Rebecca E. Flowers1
F, b. June 25, 1961, d. July 18, 1985
Rebecca E. Flowers was buried at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, Howard Co., Maryland.1,2 Her married name was Claypool.1 She married Kenneth T. Claypool, son of Douglas Claypool and Marion Sue Blevins.1 Rebecca E. Flowers was born on June 25, 1961.2 She died on July 18, 1985 at Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, at age 24.1,2 She Shortly after 10 p.m., the partially clothed body of a 24-year-old Glen Burnie woman was found in a wooded area near Faywood Drive and Benesch Circle by her husband and father-in-law, who began looking for her after finding one of her shoes along a dirt trail, Anne Arundel County police said. The body of Rebecca E. Claypool, of the 7800 block of Americana Circle, was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine cause of death and to check for possible sexual assault. Police said the slightly built, blonde woman suffered severe blows to the head, but they were unable to determine what kind of weapon was used. Her husband, Kenneth Claypool, 27, and father-in-law, Douglas Claypool, 48, said they had been n returning from a supermarket and walking along a dirt path behind the Pinewood senior citizens complex when they spotted a white tennis shoe belonging to Rebecca Claypool. Police later found her glasses under a street light at Faywood Drive and Benesch Circle and her purse about 100 feet from the shoe. The two men returned to the elder Claypool's apartment in the 7800 block of Gordon Court, where Rebecca Claypool, a hairdresser, was supposed to have gone after leaving her Severna Park job at 9 p.m. Her car was found parked outside the apartment but she was not inside. After looking for the woman at a sister-in-law's apartment, the men returned to the wooded path, which regularly is used as a shortcut by youngsters and shoppers. Using a flashlight, they said, they found her body near where they had found the shoe. Police have no suspects or motive in the case. on July 19, 1985.3
