He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Policemen 40, the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie 2883, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 271, the Cumberland Outdoor Club, and was a life member of the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion and the Haystack Mountain Sportsman's Club. Mr. Huey was also a member of the Cumberland Fraternal Order of the Elks Lodge 63 and past Exalted Ruler with 50 years of service. Dick enjoyed watching the Tigers, Pirates and Orioles games, was an avid reader of history and a movie buff. He enjoyed camping, bowling and traveling with his family and friends. Mr. Huey is survived by his son, Michael R. Huey, LaVale; his daughters, Linda K. Bauer, LaVale, and her fiancée Clinton Simmons and his son, Kenton Simmons, both of Everett, Pa., Deborah M. Mohler and her husband Philip, LaVale, and Tammy J. Hickle and her husband Thomas, Winston Salem, N.C; his mother-in-law, F. Mabel Klimchock, Cumberland; his grandchildren, Scott D. Bauer and his wife Brenda, Cumberland, Daniel D. Bauer and his fiancée Emily Friend, Chambersburg, Pa., Nathan T. Hickle, Norfolk, Va., Lindsey J. Hickle and Andrew B. Hickle, both of Winston Salem; his great-grandsons, Jakson Bauer and Darian Bauer, both of Cumberland; and his faithful dog, Misty. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. on July 30, 2006.4

Mike was born on March 2, 1953, in Denver, CO, the son of the late Ralph Richard Huey and Beverly Jean (Marker) Huey. Mike was a 1973 graduate of Allegany High School and the Career Center. He served his country in the United States Army from 1975 to 1981. Mike was currently employed for the Western Maryland Heath System for the past twenty some years working at both the Memorial and Sacred Heart Campuses and worked in the Laundry and Housekeeping Departments receiving numerous "Employee of the Month" Awards. Mike belonged to the Fort Cumberland Post #13 American Legion; the Classy Chassis Car Club; and he was a life-member of the LaVale Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed showing his award winning 1965 Chevy Super Sport and Super Chevy and surrounding area car shows. Mike also took his 1990 retired State Police car to functions when invited. Mike recently started participating in World War II reenactments around the region. He loved watching movies, especially war movies and westerns. Mike loved meeting his buddies for breakfast at Kline's Restaurant and visiting with friends whenever he got the chance. Mike will be truly missed. Mike is survived by his sisters: Linda Bauer and fiancé, Clinton Simmons, Everett, PA; Deborah Mohler and husband, Philip, LaVale, MD; and Tammy Hickle and husband, Thomas, Winston-Salem, NC; He is also survived by his nephews and their wives: Scott and Brenda Bauer; Daniel and Emily Bauer, all of Cresaptown, MD; Nathan Hickle and girlfriend, Lisa, Hagerstown, MD; and Airman Andrew Hickle, Keesler Air Force Base, MS; and his only niece: Lindsey Hickle and boyfriend, Brad Bentley, Yadkinville, NC; as well as his great nephews: Jakson, Darian, and Cade Bauer; and his great niece: Rylee Bauer. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard. on March 26, 2013.3
