Interment will be in Rose Hill. Mr. Haley died at 3 a.m. this morning in a local hospital following a long illness Services are to be conducted by Rev. H. E. Cook of Forgan, assisted by Rev. Charles Reed of Amber and Rev. Miller Jr., pastor of the local church. Mr. Haley, born July 10, 1889 in Grant county, Ark., had been a resident of this area for many years He is survived by his wife, Christie; one son, Wilson of route two, Amber; three daughters, Mrs. J. A. Rohrer of Stanberry, Mo., Mrs. Cloyd Alsup of route one, Amber, and Miss Toy Lee Haley of the home address; one sister, Mrs. Denver Scurlock of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Hosea Haley Palm Springs, Calif., and Rev. J. A. Haley of Kansas City, Mo; and six grandchildren. on October 1, 1947.³ He died on October 1, 1947 at Chickasaw, Grady Co., Oklahoma, at age 58.³

Marcia, the daughter of Clifton and Christie Haley, was born July 3, 1916, in Chickasha, Okla. She graduated with a degree in piano and elementary education from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She was married to James A. Rohrer in 1940 in Arcadia, Mo., and they moved to Springfield in 1951 where she began teaching in St. Joseph Elementary School. She was the first lay person ever to teach in a Catholic school in the area. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post, Conception Junction, Mo., and a member of the Springfield Quilt Guild. She is survived by her husband, James A. Rohrer, of the home; a son and his James A. Jr. and April Rohrer, Satellite Beach, Fla; three daughters, Sharon Grant, Mary Catherine Cooper and her husband, James, and Charlotte Lee and her husband, John, all of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. on October 30, 1995.²

Rohrer, 88, Springfield, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003, in ManorCare Health Services. Jim was born July 2, 1915, in Wathena, Kan., to Anton and Ida (Duffy) Rohrer. Jim served in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army during World War 11. He married Marcia Haley in 1940 in Arcadia, Mo. He worked as an electrical engineer for Allgeier and Martin and Associates. He was a past Commander for the American Legion Post in Conception, Mo., and a member of the 40 and 8 and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcia; his daughter, Bonnie Rector; two brothers; and a sister. He is survived by his son, J.A. Rohrer and his wife, April, Satellite Beach, Fla; three daughters, Sharon Grant, Mary C. Cooper and her husband James, and Charlotte Lee, all of Springfield, Mo; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. on December 28, 2003.⁵

     Bonnie Beatrice Rohrer was buried at Resurrection Cemetery, 4528 West Division Street, Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.^1,4 Her Social Security Number was 498-42-6275.⁶ Her married name was Rector.⁴ She married Harvey Rector.⁴ Bonnie Beatrice Rohrer was born on February 24, 1941 at Kansas.^6,7 As of June 29, 1963,her married name was Glenn.⁵ She married James Edward Glenn on June 29, 1963 at Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.⁵ Bonnie Beatrice Rohrer died on March 10, 1986 at Missouri at age 45.^4,8 She Bonnie B. Rector, 45, Springfield, died Monday at 4:15 a.m. in St. John's after a long illness. A 1959 graduate of St. Agnes High School, she was employed for several years by Ralston Purina. Survivors include her husband, Harvey; a daughter, Angela, a stepdaughter, Melissa, and a stepson, Bob, all of Springfield; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Rohrer, Springfield; three sisters, Sharon Grant, Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Mary C. Cooper, Springfield, and Charlotte L. Rohrer, Manitou Springs, Colo; a brother, J.A. Rohrer Jr., Clarksville, Tenn; and maternal grandmother, Christie Haley, Chickasha, Okla. Burial be in Resurrection Cemetery. on March 12, 1986.⁴

     Sharon Ann Rohrer Sharon Ann Grant, Dec 9, 1941 - Nov 11, 2023. Sharon Ann Grant was born to James A. Rohrer and Marcia E. Rohrer on December 9, 1941. She passed after a long fought battle with COPD. She was an avid quilter, donating much of her work to her church and people in need. Sharon graduated from Draughon’s Business School and worked most of her life doing secretarial work. She retired as an employee of the state of Missouri. Sharon was preceded in death by her sister Bonnie A. Rohrer and her brother James A. Rohrer Jr. She is survived by her two sisters; Mary Catherine Cooper and Charlotte Louise Rohrer. Both of her sisters are from Springfield, MO. A son, Robert J. Meek and his wife Yesenia live in Honduras; two daughters. Marcia Bodden, her husband John of Mission Texas and Jennifer McDaniel and her husband Mike from San Diego, CA. Her grandchildren include; Leonore, John and Samuel Bodden; Connor, Cole, Cooper and Curran McDaniel. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.¹ She was buried at Resurrection Cemetery, 4528 West Division Street, Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.¹ Her married name was Grant.¹ Her married name was Meek.¹ She married Unknown Grant.^1,2,3 Sharon Ann Rohrer married Unknown Meek.¹ Sharon Ann Rohrer was born on December 9, 1941 at Kansas.^1,5 She died on November 11, 2023 at age 81.¹

"Smokey" Rohrer, Jr. died peacefully at home. After graduating from St. Agnes Catholic High School in Springfield, MO, Jim served in the U.S. Navy. In 1968, he joined the U.S. Army and became a scouter pilot in Vietnam. He received many medals and commendations including The Purple Heart. After working with South com at Ft. Rucker, AL, he came to Patrick AFB and worked for DynCorp, serving the Air Wing of The Department of States Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs for over 20 years. Surviving is his wife of 29 years, April and children, Gray, Patrick and Haley; and beloved family members. on March 31, 2010.²
