Rose Marie Howell Rose Marie Chaffins, 67, of Ceredo, W.Va., wife of Glen Roger Chaffins, passed away Nov. 5, 2011, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, after a struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born May 26, 1944, the daughter of the late Madelyn and Clyde Howell. In addition to her parents, a nephew, Matthew Beaty, preceded her in death. She graduated from Huntington High and was retired from the Wayne County Board of Education as a secretary at Ceredo Elementary at the time of her retirement. She also leaves behind her children, Gary Steele and wife Debbie of Barboursville, Jana Hatten and husband Sean of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michelle McCallister and husband Mark of Barboursville, W.Va; her stepchildren, Kathy Bradach and husband Steve of Minnesota, Lenny Chaffins and wife Paula of Virginia, and Cheryl Chaffins of Huntington; sisters, Barbara Holbrook and the late Sam Holbrook, Linda Beaty and husband Harold, both of Huntington; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert K. and Teresa Chaffins of Richmond, Ky; 10 grandchildren that she adored, Zachary Steele and fiancé Laura Mader, Ashley and Emiley Hatten, Madelyn and Mason McCallister, Jason and Tessa Eavenson, Hannah Bradach, Zachary and Megan Chaffins; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special cousins-in-law, Jerry and Wanda Chaffins; and close friends. Barbara Ann Howell Barbara Ann Howell Holbrook, 69, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Barbara was born January 1, 1947 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Clyde Wilburn and Madelyn Audrey Epperly Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam G. Holbrook and a sister, Rose Marie Chaffins. She was retired from the accounting department at the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center and attended Seventh Avenue Baptist Church and the former Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Randy Nicholas of Huntington; a son, Todd Holbrook of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Wes Skaggs, Maddie Holbrook, Sam Holbrook, Audrey Holbrook, Jack Holbrook, Bear Nicholas, and Richie (Carrie) Nicholas; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Harold Beaty of Huntington; several nieces nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her faithful companions, her dog, Molly and her cat, Socks. George was born January 18, 1943 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Ed and Dorothy Morrison Steele. He was a retired salesman for the Flav-O-Rich Dairy Co., a Kentucky Colonel, a former Assistant Fire Chief for the Ceredo Vol. Fire Department, a member of the Crescent F&AM #32 Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife Effie Napier Steele, two daughters Jana Hatten and husband Sean of Orange Park, FL and Michelle McCallister and husband Mark of Barboursville, WV; a son Gary Steele and wife Debbie also of Barboursville, WV; five grandchildren, a brother Donnie Steele of Hickory, NC; five step sons Gary Alan (Janet) Huff, Larry Michael (Cathy) Huff, William Torry and fiance' Nora James, Donovan (Chip) Huff, and Kevin (Carol) Huff; two step daughters Dreama (Gary) Gillette, and Karla Huff; ten step grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Howell Chaffins. Roger was an avid C-K sports fan. He coached Buddy League Basketball, C-K Youth Football, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball for many years. He is survived by two sons, William "Lenny" and Paula Chaffins and their children, Meghan and Zackary; Gary and Debbie Steele and their son, Zach; four daughters, Cheryl Kae Chaffins; Kathy and Steve Bradach and their children, Tessa, Hannah and Jason, his wife, Brett and their son, Ellis; Jana and Sean Hatten and their children, Ashley and Emiley and Michelle and Mark McCallister and their children, Madelyn and Mason; one brother, Bob and Teresa Chaffins and their children Mike and Kristi; a special friend, Mae Plymale; many cousins, friends and neighbors and his best buddy, Roscoe. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. on December 21, 2014.4
