Born Aug 5, 1938, in Lumberton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha West. She attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include one son, Robert Boyd Burnish and his wife, Mimi, of Sumter; four grandsons, William Burnish, Robert Burnish, Benjamin Bouillon and Gregory Bouillon, all of Sumter; four brothers, Howard West, Glenn West, and Jimmy West, all of North Carolina, and Raymond West of Georgia; and one sister, Edith McCall of North Carolina. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Matthews and a brother Leroy West. on July 27, 2006.²
