Born on May 21, 1976, he was a son of Barbara Stacy McGhee and the late Charles E. McGhee. He had been a lifetime resident of Bluefield and was a graduate of Bluefield High School and Bluefield State College. He loved his children and working on cars. He would always help others and put others first. He was employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in McDowell County where he died while training in Georgia. He was in the WV Air National Guard # 130th Air Lift Wing, Charleston, W.Va. and had been in the Army National Guard out of Charleston also. He was to be deployed to Afghanistan in June. Chuck was a member of the Church of God. His passion was his children and the Military Service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Minnie Pauley Stacey; special cousin, Roger Dinger; grandmother, Maw Maw Howard; and aunt, Debbie Howard. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Stacy McGhee of Bluefield; stepfather, Billy Joe Howard of Bluefield; sons, Charles E. McGhee, III of Princeton, and Chayton E. McGhee of Newhall; daughter, Chloe B. McGhee of Newhall; stepbrothers, Martin Howard of North Carolina, and Mike Howard of Tazewell, Va; stepsister, Diane Thompson of North Carolina; uncle, Howard Stacy of Bluewell; aunts, Freda Coeburn Shrader of Bluewell and Jeanette Dinger of Rt. 1, Bluefield. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Wright Patterson AFB and WV Air National Guard in Charleston will conduct military honors. James Godfrey, Robbie Palmer, David Coeburn, Ryland Stacy, Martin Howard, Mike Howard, J. J.      Edward Eugene Shelby Edward E. Shelby 84, passed on December 28, 2021. He was born on August 22, 1937 in Beulah, Florida. He was nicknamed Gene Chinaman and Geno. Edward was a retired captain from FL D.O.T. He was a devoted husband and family man. He loved fishing, Nascar, hunting and spending time with family. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Lizzy Shelby; sister’s, Sarah Wharton and Dell Marie Diamond. Edward is survived by his wife, Rhonda Shelby; daughter, Cynthia (Ed) Stevens; step daughter’s, Tammy (Clayton) Simmons and Kimberle (Greg) Meinhardt; grandson’s, Edward Stevens and Andrew Stevens; brother, Jack (Estell) Shelby; sister-in-law, Jane Garett; brother-in-law, Darrell Detzel; nephew, Ricky Herndon. Interment will be at Beulah Baptist Cemetery.
