     Kenneth Arthur Varney was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.3,2,5 He Upon arriving in Vietnam July 23, 1966 Kenneth was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, USARV. Kenneth died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire.3 He was born on April 22, 1946 at West Virginia.1,3,5,4 He died on May 1, 1967 at South Vietnam at age 21.2,3,5,6,4 He Funeral services were held Tuesday in Arlington National Cemetery for Pfc. Kenneth A. Varney, 21, of the Town of Tonawanda, who was killed May 1, in South Vietnam. A member of the Fourth Infantry, Pfc. Varney was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Stone of 273 Desmond Ave. He was due home next month and had been in Vietnam nearly a year. Pfc. Varney was born in West Virginia but spent most of his life in this area. He was graduated from Kenmore West High School. on May 11, 1967.2
