He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Elaine Thorn; one grandson, Joshua Paxton; and one brother, Ronald Paxton.      David Wesley Paxton Sr. David Wesley Paxton, Sr. was born January 14, 1938, in Walton, West Virginia to Herman and Florence Paxton and passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford and the age of 83. As a young boy, Dave attended public school in Walton and later enlisted into the US Army where he was a medic. He moved to Fort Riley, KS and on January 9, 1958, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Ervin in Blue Rapids, KS and to this union eight children were born: David Jr., Steve, Darrell, William, Della, Phyllis and Connie, Michael. David worked at a Glass Plant Company in Illinois, operated a gas station and café in Blue Rapids and later drove a box truck. After Charlottes death, David moved to York where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and going on drives out in the countryside. David enjoyed participating in demolition derby’s and was a weather watcher for many years. Survivors include his 8 children, David Paxton Jr., Waterville, KS, Darrell Paxton, Kansas City, KS, Steve Zimmerman, St. George, KS, William (Lynn) Paxton, Cheyenne, WY, Phyllis Hogston, Beatrice, Connie Evans, Wymore and Mike Paxton, Beatie, KS, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty Barrett, Charleston, WV, an adopted brother, Brady Paxton, Huntington, WV, several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlotte, daughter, Della, a grandsons, Adam, Dillon and Nathen Paxton, and a granddaughter, Breanna Paxton, two brothers a sister and a son-in-law, Gregg Evans. His final resting place will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Blue Rapids, KS.2 He was buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids City, Marshall Co., Kansas.2,8 He was born on January 14, 1938 at Walton, Roane Co., West Virginia.2,8 He married Charlotte M. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Larry in infancy; daughter, Betty Musolff; grandson, Shane Lanning; son-in-law, Dan Danko; brother, Ray Paxton; and brother-in-law, Russ Barrett. Eloise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and also a great cook. She is going to be sadly missed. on June 18, 2014.2

Russell loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and camping. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. on March 20, 2012.3
