     David Wesley Paxton Sr. David Wesley Paxton, Sr. was born January 14, 1938, in Walton, West Virginia to Herman and Florence Paxton and passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford and the age of 83. As a young boy, Dave attended public school in Walton and later enlisted into the US Army where he was a medic. He moved to Fort Riley, KS and on January 9, 1958, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Ervin in Blue Rapids, KS and to this union eight children were born: David Jr., Steve, Darrell, William, Della, Phyllis and Connie, Michael. David worked at a Glass Plant Company in Illinois, operated a gas station and café in Blue Rapids and later drove a box truck. After Charlottes death, David moved to York where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and going on drives out in the countryside. David enjoyed participating in demolition derby’s and was a weather watcher for many years. Survivors include his 8 children, David Paxton Jr., Waterville, KS, Darrell Paxton, Kansas City, KS, Steve Zimmerman, St. George, KS, William (Lynn) Paxton, Cheyenne, WY, Phyllis Hogston, Beatrice, Connie Evans, Wymore and Mike Paxton, Beatie, KS, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty Barrett, Charleston, WV, an adopted brother, Brady Paxton, Huntington, WV, several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlotte, daughter, Della, a grandsons, Adam, Dillon and Nathen Paxton, and a granddaughter, Breanna Paxton, two brothers a sister and a son-in-law, Gregg Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Larry in infancy; daughter, Betty Musolff; grandson, Shane Lanning; son-in-law, Dan Danko; brother, Ray Paxton; and brother-in-law, Russ Barrett. Eloise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and also a great cook. She is going to be sadly missed. on June 18, 2014.²

Barrett; sons, Dale Ingram of Sissonville and his wife June, and Gary Ingram of Charleston; granddaughter, Lisa A. Bishop of Cross Lanes and husband, Terry; grandson, Patrick Ingram of Sissonville; three great-grandchildren, Scott Lewis, Angel Bishop, and Sean Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. Russell was a lifelong resident of Dunbar. He worked at Shoney's Commissary, retiring in 2001, but continuing to work there until 2009. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Marysville. Mrs. Paxton was born Aug. 1, 1933 in Wellford, W. Virginia, the daughter of Parris and Florence (Pickering) Huffman. She married Forrest “Ray” Paxton Sr., Mar. 24, 1950 in Dunbar W. Virginia. He preceded her in death June 24, 2010. Erma had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co., Streator. She was an active member of Ransom United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She attended Poca W. Virginia grade schools and Poca High School. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Michael) Keesee, Ransom, one son, Forrest “Ray” (Laura) Paxton Jr., Clinton, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Elaine Thorn, one grandson, Joshua “Ray” Paxton, two sisters, Irene Daughety and Rosa Wright. Mr. Thorn possessed a Master's Degree from Cornell University in Labor Relations. He worked and retired after 33 years from Owens Illinois Glass Manufacturing in Volney, NY, and was a prominent union official. He worked at various golf courses, including Gates Four in Fayetteville, NC. Being in various golf leagues, he also enjoyed reading, working outside, and listening to big bands and Jazz music. He was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. His love of sports included him being an active little league board member and umpire, PTA, coaching girls H.S. softball and umpiring, he was active with Boy Scouts, Musicals, and Choirs. on July 11, 2018.²
