He was born August 13, 1937 in Spencer, a son of the late Worthy Porter Paxton and Lessie Ann (Kessell) Paxton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Gae (Settles) Paxton; brothers, Paul Brooks Paxton and Robert Allen Paxton; sisters, Virginia Oleda Miller, Retha Mae Paxton, Nina Ellen Bartlett, and Faye Ermadean Roberts; daughter-in-law, Deloris Kaye (McCumbers) Paxton; along with several nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law. Surviving are children, Marvin (Melinda) Paxton, Steven (Carolyn) Paxton, and Paul (Shannon) Paxton; grandchildren, Marvin (Monica) Paxton, Jr., Matthew (Samantha) Paxton, Elizabeth Paxton, and Alicia Paxton; great-grandchildren, Emmett , Brooklynn, and Aleiyah Paxton; and siblings, Alice Ferrell and Gladys (Ed) West. James graduated from Spencer High School and was employed by Kellwood Company for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching WVU basketball, attending gospel sings, reading, and the time he spent with friends each morning at the Country Table. Enoch, 63, of Elizabeth, died July 25, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital of Parkersburg. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Pee Wee, W.Va., a son of the late Donald Enoch and Lora Sullivan Enoch. He retired from Century Aluminum of Ravenswood. He was a member of Gates Ridge Methodist Church of Rockport, and a member of the Sandyville Senior Citizens. He enjoyed watching young people playing school sports. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Miller Enoch of Elizabeth; three sons, Keith and his wife, Eleanor Enoch of Parkersburg, Gary and his wife, Barb Enoch of Mineral Wells, and Brian and his wife, Lori Enoch of Elizabeth; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Natalie, Jessica, Andrew, Megan and Seth; one sister, Elizabeth Bonnett of Rockport; and mother-in-law, Virginia Miller of Ripley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank; and a grandson, Kyle. Burial in Independence Cemetery of Sandyville. on July 26, 2001.2

Mr. Roberts was a veteran, having served in the United States Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 21. He was retired from Crihfield Motors, Spencer. He was a Christian and attended the Advent Christian Church in Spencer. He is survived by his immediate family, including his sister, Naomi Roberts Robinson and her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Darrell Buttrick, all of Elkview; his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Clara West Roberts of Vienna and their daughters and a son-in-law, Alegra and Walt Wright of Vienna and Suzette Roberts of Barboursville; and countless other family members and friends.
