He was of the Baptist faith, served in the United States Army during World War II and had worked at the Northern Virginia Daily. He was a member of Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg. Surviving are his wife, Beverley Hardt Crawford; daughters, Linda A. Stump of Strasburg, Karen I. Wright of Richmond, Rhonda M. Body and Laurie L. Peerman, both of Vinton; a son, Galen S. W., Roanoke, Virginia.^5,3 He was born on June 15, 1950 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,5,4 He married Rhonda Maria Crawford, daughter of Alvin Galen Crawford and Eva Rachel Scott, on February 23, 1979 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ William Christopher Body and Rhonda Maria Crawford were divorced on February 12, 1991 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² William Christopher Body died on July 16, 2015 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 65.^5,3 He William Christopher "Chris" Body, 65, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2015. Chris was an active member of First Christian Church in Roanoke where he served as Church Videographer. He was a graduate of Northside High School and Virginia Western Community College. He studied horticulture and loved working with plants and gardening. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Era. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Body and Ruth G. Body, as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Jill; and his son, Shawn. He is also survived by a dear aunt, "Mom" Joy Garten; his mother-in-law, Veryl Cash Campbell; a sister-in-law, Linda C. Greer; as well as many cousins; church family and dear friends. He will also be dearly missed by his Cocker Spaniel, Jasmine and cat, Hannah. Interment with full military honors will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. on July 19, 2015.³
