Debra Sue Davis Debra Sue Phares, age 64, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 15th, 1955 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Lowell E. and Deloris E. (Mann) Davis. Debra graduated from Northeastern High School in 1973. She retired after 27 years from Northeastern where she was a school bus driver. She loved Ohio State and was an avid football fan. Debra had a love for the water and enjoyed time spent at their pool. Debra was very close to family and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Randy Phares; two daughters and a son-in-law: Latisha and Jeff Stelzer of Springfield and Heather Phares of South Vienna; a grandson, Caiden Stelzer of Springfield; a brother, Steven (Alvina) Davis of New Port Richey, Florida and a special cousin, Marcella Mann of South Vienna and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, niece, Tara Davis, and cousins: Phillip Mann and Jason Hess.2 She was born on March 15, 1955 at Springfield, Clark Co., Ohio.2 As of circa 1973,her married name was Phares.2 She married Randy Joseph Phares on September 22, 1973 at Clark Co., Ohio.1,2,3,4 Debra Sue Davis died on June 6, 2019 at South Vienna, Clark Co., Ohio, at age 64.2

She was born July 2, 1975, in Springfield, the daughter of Steven E. and Rebecca Grubbs Davis. Tara was a senior at Northeastern High School where she was Senior Captain of the Volleyball Team, a member of the Track Team, the Spanish Gub and was currently President of the Students Against Drunk Drivers. She was active in all the South Vienna Athletic Programs in her younger life and received the Coaches Award in her eighth grade year and was a member of the 4-H Cooking Club. She was employed by the Ponderosa Steak House on E. Main St. for the past two years. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Rebecca A. and Robert Hutchins, with whom she made her home; father and stepmother, Steven E. and Alvina Davis of Newport Richey, Florida; a brother and best friend, Marc E. Davis, at home; maternal grandmother, Anna Grubbs of Springfield; paternal grandparents, Lowell E. and Deloris E. Davis of Cleveland, Tennessee; three step-brothers and a step-sister, John A. and Joe C. Nelson, Robert Hutchins III and Angela L. Hutchins; aunts and uncles including Deborah Mitchell, Robert Grubbs, John and Marla Stouffer and Debra and Randy Phares; three cousins, April Lynn Stouffer, Heather E. and Latisha R. Phares; one nephew, Brandon Setty; a number of great aunts and uncles; and many, many, many friends including her teachers in the Northeastern School District. She was preceded in death by a dear friend and cousin Mandi Jo Stouffer on March 21, 1993 with whom she has joined in Eternity. He helped organize the North Carolina Dealers Association and was the first treasurer of the group. He also served as director of the organization and as president of the Eastern North Carolina Dodge Dealers Association. He was a member of the Dodge Brothers Advisory Council of North Carolina. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Baptist Church American Legion Durham Post No. 7, Hope Valley Country Club. On Sept 8, 1923, he was married to the former Miss Melba Stephens of Lynchburg, who survives as do two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Dancy Hall, Durham and Mrs. Frank L. Eubank, Willingboro, N.J; and three grandchildren. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. on November 6, 1969.6

She was born in Lynchburg, VA, the daughter of the late James Bly Dancy and Melba Mae Dancy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. Preston Hall formerly of Durham who passed away last year in Florida; second husband, Charles Samuel Cooper; step-son, Charles S. Cooper, Jr; daughter-in-law, Crystal Hall; and brother-in-law, Col. Francis Lewis Eubank, Jr. Mrs. Cooper received her Bachelor’s Degree from The College of William and Mary and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill. She was a former member of a senior tap dance club, enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the porch at the beach, as well as traveling with her husband Charles. Mrs. Cooper is survived by her daughter, Bly Hall and husband Ralph Cook; son, James Stephen Hall; step-son, Stephen Cooper and wife Janie; sister, Martha Dancy Eubank; grandchildren, Stephen Jerome Hall and wife Tegan, Justin Thomas Hall, Jennifer Bly Cook and husband WuDi Wu; step-grandchildren, Brian Cooper, Blake Cooper; nieces, Frances Fuller and husband David, Heather Crane and husband Duke; great nephews, Reid Fuller, Spencer Crane; and great niece, Ky Fuller.
