Bowen.1,2 Marvin Ray Shelton was born on January 5, 1932 at Eden, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.2 He died on March 16, 2016 at Eden, Rockingham Co., North Carolina, at age 84.2 He EDEN - Marvin Ray Shelton, 84, of Eden passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2016 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. Mr. Shelton was born in in Eden on January 5, 1932, a son of William Carroll and Ila Hawkins Shelton, both deceased. He was retired from Karastan Rug Mill. He was a veteran of the US Army and was an avid gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mack and Wallace Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Hedrick Shelton of the home; his daughters, Virginia Cochran and husband Wilford of Reidsville, Angela Ayers and husband Arty of Eden, Paula Rowe of Eden, April Light and husband Joey of Ruffin; his sisters, Nellie Carter and husband Richard of Greensboro, Shirley Hester of Greensboro, Dixie Gregory of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Melissa Walker, Amanda Price, Beau Ayers, Laura Light; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Hall, Keenan Thornton, Hayden Light, Riley Dala Cruz and Christian Dala Cruz. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to his caregiver, Portia Millner and to Hospice of Rockingham County for their compassionate care given to Mr. Shelton. on March 18, 2016.2

Laura Marie Light, 27, of 9298 Hwy 700, Ruffin passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Laura was born in Rockingham County on September 09, 1989, the daughter of Joseph Cleveland Light and April Shelton Light. In addition to her parents, Laura is survived by her son, Hayden Light; her grandmother, Shirley "Nannie" Shelton and her grandfather Allen Light and wife, Fahne. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bertha Light and her grandfather Marvin Shelton.4 She was born on September 6, 1989 at Rockingham Co., North Carolina.3,4 She died on August 1, 2017 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina, at age 27.4

     Timothy Everette Watts Wadesboro - Mr. Timothy 'Tim' Everett Watts died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Anson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Cathedral Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Tim was born November 10, 1962 in Anson County, NC and was a son of June Starling Meland and the late James Everett Watts. When Tim was 5 years old, his mother met and married Harold Meland and after that, Tim lovingly called Harold his Daddy. Harold preceded him in death also. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Rhonda Barbour Watts of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Kristina Watts of Wadesboro; his mother, June Meland of Wadesboro; his sisters and brother, Dawn Meland (Tim) Cook of English, IN, Kevin (Kristie) Meland of Rincon, GA; Donna Meland (Doug) Paul of Wadesboro and Sharon Meland (Bret) Boyer of Unionville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.W. and Mary Anne Barbour of Gladys, VA; his brother-in-law, Anthony (Natalie) Barbour of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families. Tim will be remembered for being a true Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Tarheels fan. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, playing corn hole, fire pits and especially his man cave. He, his wife, son and daughter-in-law just enjoyed a weekend at the beach and they are most grateful for the time shared and memories made.
