     Phyllis Delores Thornsburg Phyllis Dolores Hodges, 78, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Marvin P. Hodges. Born on April 28, 1937 in North Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Woodrow Thornsbury and Ruth Nadine Morgan Thornsbury. Dolores was a RN and Operating Room Supervisor with Virginia Baptist Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and painting. She was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Hodges; brother, Coley "Lou" Thornsbury; and brother-in-law, Jack Elliott. In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by three grandchildren, Michael Hodges, Steven Hodges, and Christy Hodges; sister, Thanna Elliott; brother, Walter Thornsbury and wife Helen; sister-in-law, Brenda Thornsbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.      Timothy Wayne Hodges Timothy Wayne Hodges, 51, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was the husband of Karen Foster Hodges. Tim was born in Lynchburg on January 23, 1961, the son of Marvin P. Hodges and Delores Hodges. In addition to his wife and parents, Tim is survived by one daughter, Christi Hodges of NY; two sons, Steven Hodges and Michael Hodges both of Lynchburg; one step-daughter, Julie Renea Ridgeway of Lynchburg; three step-sons, Jamie Lee Ridgeway and wife, Laurie and Jeremy Rea Ridgeway both of Lynchburg and John Thomas Ridgeway of Hawaii; and three grandchildren, Jaydon Thomas Ridgeway, Brandon Charles Ridgeway and Brooklin Diane Ridgeway all of Lynchburg and his former wife, Lori Pecham Hodges of Lynchburg. Tim was an employee of Terry Volkswagen in Lynchburg for over ten years. He loved his work and it was a big part of his life. Tim called all of his coworkers friends. He adored his children and especially doted on his grandchildren. "Papa Tim" loved cooking with his wife, Karen for all the kids and grandchildren. They gathered frequently for Sunday dinners. Tim was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed. Born on September 24, 1959, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Joyce Ann Hughes Mays and the late Norman Gerald Mays Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, N. Gerald Mays Jr. Danny was a skilled laborer in construction for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, playing his drums to music and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and watching the Earnhardts racing with NASCAR. In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Wanda Kay Mays of Bedford, and Faith M. Adkins (Kenny) of Evington; a sister-in-law, Joyce P. Mays of Lynchburg; seven nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Michael (Kristi), Chris (Liz), Shaun (Jordan), Amanda (Greg), Ashley (Tom), and Brittany (Rusty); a special cousin, Derek Lee (Tonda) of Bedford; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was a member of Timberlake Christian Church and a member of the Brookville-Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department since 1982, where he served in many capacities, including Chief and President. Gerald was an adjunct fire instructor for the state of Virginia and secretary of the Central Virginia Firefighters Association for many years. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Michael Lee Mays and his wife, Kristin, of Lynchburg and Christopher A. Mays, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lowsville, NY and; two sisters, Wanda K. Mays and Faith M. Adkins and her husband, Kenneth; one brother, Danny R. Mays, all of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Katie, MacKenzie and Landon Mays and his mother-in-law, Hazel Palmer. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. on August 16, 2011.⁴
