Born on Oct. 5, 1946, Terry was the son of Jack and Irene Briggs of Danville. Terry was a dedicated family man who lived a life of service to others. He attended Danville schools, and after Army service, returned to raise a family and serve for 20 years as an officer of the Danville Police Department. Terry also served as an investigator of child abuse for the State of Illinois. A graduate of Indiana State University and a licensed Realtor, Terry served as a member of the Danville Board of Education, a member of Second Church of Christ and as a volunteer of the Special Olympics and other charitable organizations. Terry had a gentle demeanor and a keen wit. A lifelong reader, Terry never stopped learning about subjects of interest, such as his Christian faith, history, mysteries and nature. Surviving are: wife of 45 years, Mun Sik "Kim" Briggs of Goodyear, Ariz; daughter Teresa Briggs of Big Pine Key, Fla., and grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jacob; daughter Michelle (Greg) Walters of Goodyear, Ariz., and grandchildren Lillian and Micah; step-grandchildren Nathan (Kim) Walters of Yreka, Calif., Carey (Sol) Ludwick of Haymarket, Va., and Laura Walters of Phoenix, Ariz., and their families. He also is survived by his sister-in-law, Sin Sik Kim-Keerns of Goodyear, Ariz. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Briggs; and brother-in-law Melvin Keerns. Terry will be laid to rest with military honors at 12:30 p.m. MST Friday, Nov. 1, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Terry's family is grateful for the care and compassion received at the Hayden V.A. Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. on October 26, 2013.2

Gene enjoyed collecting coins, camping, CB radios and had an infinate love for tomatoes.      Dorris Lorraine Shores The Essence of Dorris Lorraine Ward has transitioned from this life and has reunited with the spirits of family and friends. Dorris passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Leon and Della Louise Shores. Her early life was spent in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she met and married her late husband Kenneth J. Ward. The family moved from Terre Haute to northeast Indiana, where they spent most of their married life in the Woodburn area. She worked and then retired from Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company, where she was employed as a lab technician in the Quality Control Lab. After retirement, Dorris moved to Florida, achieving her dream, resided in the Northport area for a number of years, and later returned to her hometown of Woodburn to be close to her family. Dorris leaves behind five of her seven children, Kenneth L. Ward (Melanie) of Jasonville, Indiana, Cynthia L. Barhydt (Kenneth) of Grabill, and Karen S. Hanefeld (Kevin), Connie G. Rothgeb (Steve), and Keri J. Bricault (Lee), all of Woodburn, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two of her children, Kristi A. Wahl and Curtis A. Ward. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grand-children and a great-great grandchild as well as a number of close friends. She also leaves behind, a brother, Edward Shores (Patricia), of Eureka, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Shores. Private graveside services will be conducted at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, Indiana.1 She was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park, 7500 North Clinton Road, Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana.1 Her married name was Ward.1 She married Kenneth J.
