She is survived by a son, Shawn and Amy Sykes of Terre Haute; a daughter, Stefanie Cavanaugh of Terre Haute; a brother, Don Smith of Mecca; two sisters, Janet Overpeck of Mecca and Sandra Hutson of Mecca; four grandchildren, Sierra Sykes, Shelby Sykes, Chelsea (Matt) Stout, and Allison Cavanaugh; one great-granddaughter, Harper Stout; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. on February 17, 2014.1

She had worked in the Accounting department at the former Vermillion County Hospital and was a former member of the Wakofe Club. She also was in a women’s bowling league, several years ago, and loved to play bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Dee Smith; and brothers and sisters, Owen Hutson, Jr., Veda Jones, Richard Hutston, Max Hutson, and James Hutson. She is survived by two daughters, Paula and John Barrett of Clinton and Jackee and Brad Paige of Riley; one grandson, her pride and joy, Logan Burdick and Erika Lechleitner of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
