Nicewander, 71, of Route 3 Box 613 (Lorton Lick Road), Bluefield, died on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 in a Roanoke, Va. hospital. Born March 31, 1930, in McComas, he was a son of the late Gertrude Thomas. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and granddad. He had been a resident of Lorton Lick Road for 10 years and was retired from Joanna Western Mills in Chicago as a machine foreman. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict where he served in the U.S. Army. He had been an avid bowler for the past 10 years at both Mountaineer and Green Valley Bowling Lanes. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Jettie M. Gearheart Nicewander of the home; two daughters, Wanda Nicewonder and husband, Bill of Carol Stream, Ill. and Cindi Gaughan and husband, Dave of Lake Station, Ind; three sons, Robert E. Nicewander and wife, Ina of Las Vegas, Nev., Daniel Nicewander and wife, Diana of Chicago, Ill., and Michael Nicewander of the home; one sister, Nancy Thomas Hatley of California; one brother, Daniel Thomas of Chicago; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be performed by the Big Sandy District American Legion Post #175 and the Mercer County Veterans Council. on August 14, 2001.5

DuPont Parkway, New Castle, New Castle Co., Delaware.2 She was born on September 24, 1933.3 As of circa 1957,her married name was Gearheart.1 She married James Edward Gearheart Sr., son of William Van Gearheart and Elizabeth Marie "Lizzy" Rose, circa 1957.1 Eleanor Mae Wiggins died on December 5, 2011 at New Castle, New Castle Co., Delaware, at age 78.2 She Eleanor Mae Gearheart, age 78, of New Castle, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2011. Mrs. Gearheart enjoyed going out for dinner, baking, annually attending family reunions, and she was an avid fan of wrestling. She was a loving homemaker and was thankful for every day she had with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Gearheart is survived by her sons, James E. Gearheart, Jr., and Kenneth W. Gearheart and wife Carol; daughter, Diana Gearheart-Parris and husband Jeffery; loving grandchildren: Laura M. Gearheart, Mason K. Gearheart, Dylan James Parris; step-grandson, Billy Miller; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Gearheart Sr; and her brothers and sisters. A service in celebration of Eleanor's life will begin at 10:30 am followed by burial in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle. on December 7, 2011.2
