She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Reed; daughter-in-law, Deborah Reed; parents and step-mother. on September 1, 2013.¹

     Donna Marie Hotovec Donna Marie (Hotovec) Hibbs, 81, Johnston, IA, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, three short days shy of her 82nd birthday. Survivors include husband Jerry Hibbs, daughters Diane (Don) McKillip, Denise (Kevin) Lee, Darlene (Steve) Elings and Jeanne Hendon, sons Mike (Mary Sue) Hibbs, and Steve (Opal) Hibbs, brothers Bill (Joanne) Hotovec, and Norm (Sheila) Hotovec, and sister Maryann Longley, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were parents Jerry and Abbie (Sernett) Hotovec. Donna was born in Pocahontas, Iowa and moved to Des Moines to attend college at AIB. She made her career and retired at Sears as Credit Supervisor. After many years in Des Moines, Donna and Jerry moved to Lake Panorama enjoying many family weekends on the lake. Donna’s later retirement years were spent traveling in their motor home. They settled in Alamo, Texas for several years before coming back to Des Moines in 2015. She was an EverReady bunny, waging a fierce battle to live her life to the fullest despite years of health challenges. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1230 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, IA, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 11:00am. Visitation will be at Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, IA, on Wednesday, April 26th with family greeting friends from 5 to 7pm. A Prayer Vigil will begin at 4:30pm prior to the visitation.
