Gregory Curtis Kinser Gregory C. Kinser, 58 of Brighton, died unexpectedly on January 22, 2017 while visiting Wallace, North Carolina. He was born to Bill Kinser of Carlinville & Betty (Thiele) Kinser (Deceased) on January 17, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri. Gregory was a crane operator. He also was an United States Army Veteran and member of ABATE of Illinois Piasa Gateway Chapter. Survivors include 3 daughters; Anna, Ashley & Marissa Kinser all of Tennessee, 3 grandchildren, 1 sister & brother in law; Debbie & Brian Bangert of Brighton, 1 brother & sister in law; Richard & Denise Kinser of Brighton. David George Cole was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.2 He was born on February 22, 1932 at Greenfield, Greene Co., Illinois.2 He married Shirley Wheeler on June 14, 1953.2 David George Cole died on October 29, 2018 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois, at age 86.2 He David George Cole passed away on October 29, 2018 at the VA Illiana Health Care in Danville, Illinois. He was born February 22, 1932 in Greenfield, Illinois, the eldest son of George Allen and Mabel (Kinser) Cole. Raised on a farm near Palmyra in Macoupin Country, Illinois he walked, sometimes barefoot, to a one-room country school through the eighth grade. After graduation from Greenfield High School he earned a degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois. He married the former Shirley Wheeler of Springfield on June 14, 1953, and then served in the army near Toul, France. His sixty-year farm management career began with Doane Agricultural Service in Jerseyville, Illinois; then continued in Danville with Second National Bank, First Midwest Bank, and Cole Farm Management. A fifty-five year member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, he served as president of the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Volunteer activities include service on the boards of the Boy Scouts, United Way, YMCA, Soil and Water Conservation District, and in many capacities at Ridgeview Baptist Church where he was a member since moving his young family to Danville in 1961. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; children Steven and Timothy Cole of Danville, and Margaret (Jeffery) Sexton of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren Stephanie Proietti, Fawn Williams, Samuel (Elizabeth), Benjamin (Teresa), Matthew, Mark, Bryan, and Owen Cole and Joshua and Luke (Sebastian) Sexton; great-grandchildren Gabriel Jiles, Ethan Stevenson, Isaiah Jensen, Malia Williams, Edward Brock, and Mia, Amelia, Iris, Evan, Hazel, Gabriella, Josiah, Annabelle, and Broden Cole; and his brothers Gale (Joy) Cole of Palmyra and Kendall (Charlot) Cole of Virden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy Vial St. John. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Memorials may be placed to Ridgeview Baptist Church or the Vermilion County 4-H. on October 30, 2018.2

She was born Feb. 28, 1936, at home, in Greene County, to George Allen and Mabel Kinser Cole. She resided in rural Blackstone most of her adult life. She married Richard E. Vial on July 8, 1956. He died on Jan. 25, 2000. She later married Robert St. John on March 3, 2001. He died on Sept. 10, 2010. She is survived by two children, Daniel R. (Julie) Vial, Blackstone, and Laurie B. (Michael Ball) Vial, Champaign; four grandchildren, Jacob D. (Kelly) Nancy Ellen Cole Vial Vial, Chicago; Molly D. (Brandon) Laue, Altamont; Neal R. Benjamin, Carthage; and Claire E. Benjamin, Champaign; as well as a great-grandson, Wyatt Laue. Also surviving are three brothers, David (Shirley) Cole, Danville; Gale (Joy) Cole, Palmyra; and Kendall (Charlot) Cole, Virden; two stepdaughters, Joni (Tak Cheung) St. John, Manville, and Lori (Jay) Wittrig, Hopedale; stepgrandchildren, Emily (Aaron) Petri, Bloomington; Edward (Haley) Wittrig, St. Louis, Mo; Elizabeth Wittrig, Hopedale; and Ray St. John, Peoria; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Olivia Petri. Nancy was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan, and her parents. Nancy attended Illinois College and graduated from Passavant Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, both in Jacksonville, and was a registered nurse. She worked at St. James Hospital, Pontiac, and later worked for the Livingston County Public Health Department from 1968 to 1990, where she worked at the Chest Clinic and made home visits. She was active in the Illinois Heart and Lung Association and the Illinois Conference on Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. Nancy was a 4-H leader for many years and started the Sunbury Shamrocks 4-H Club. She was a member of the Blackstone United Methodist Church and served as organist for more than 40 years. She was active in United Methodist Women at the local and district levels. And she was also active in the Livingston County Farm Bureau women’s committee and volunteered at Evenglow Lodge doing nail care for many years. Nancy loved to sew in the winter and made hundreds of beautiful items, among them several wedding gowns, including those for Laurie, Julie and Molly. In the summer, Nancy spent her time outdoors in her vegetable garden, flower beds and caring for the lawn and acreage. She was passionate about picking black raspberries and froze them to make “Gramma Jamma” year- round. She loved identifying and feeding birds and participating in the Audubon Society’s bird counts. on December 22, 2016.2

Daniel Earl "Dan" Griswold was buried at Witt Cemetery #1, Rockbridge, Greene Co., Illinois.3,2 He Daniel E. "Dan" Griswold, 49, of rural Rockbridge,IL died Monday, September 3, 2007 in rural Eldred, IL. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandpa. He had many friends whom he loved to visit and spend time with. Dan was born January 19, 1958 in Carrollton, the son of James E. "Everett" and Carole Kinser Griswold. He married his high school sweetheart, Suzann Morrow, on September 6, 1981 and she survives. In addition to his mother, Dan is survived by a daughter, Vanessa (husband) Chris Sheppard or Crestview, Florida; two sons: Jim Griswold of Maryville, MO and Tom Griswold at home; a grandson, Cayden Sheppard (19 months); a brother, David (wife, Holly) Griswold of Franklin, Tennessee; and twin nieces, Madison and Sharayah Griswold also of Franklin, Tennessee. Dan was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Ernest and Margaret (King) Griswold; maternal grandparents, Lynn and Norma (Jackson) Kinser; a paternal uncle, William Griswold; a maternal uncle, Dr. Robert Kinser and a maternal great-uncle, Elmer Jackson. Dan grew up living on a farm in rural Rockbridge where his family was grain and hog farmers. He was a 1976 graduate of Greenfield High School. He was an outstanding athlete; participating in wrestling, baseball, and football, being named All-Conference Linebacker and Defensive MVP and was the recipient of the senior male athletic award and the DAR Citizenship award. Dan also played the tuba in the school band. He was a long-time, active member of the Greene County 4-H. For several summers Dan showed a full string of Yorkshire hogs at local county fairs which earned him the reputation of "knowing the hog business". He attended Illinois State University to study agriculture. In the fall of 1979, Dan decided to return home where he partnered with his father to farm and raise hogs. Dan was an active volunteer for the Greenfield Youth League, holding the office of treasurer for several years. He coached the baseball team his son, Tom, played on beginning with T-Ball. Dan was very proud of his three children and his son-in-law, Chris, and the accomplishments they have made. He tried to instill in his children a "good work ethic" that what's worth doing, is worth doing it right. A few years ago he began teaching his sons the construction trade of which they have now completed several home remodeling jobs -- knowledge they will be able to use for a lifetime. Dan was probably the most proud of his grandson, Cayden, and the joy that he has brought to the whole family. Casket Bearers will be Chuck Schirz, Jay Schirz, Greg Griswold, Jon Wright, Jeff Wright, Tim Wright, Bob Hall, and Jimmy White. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Larry White, Jim Armold, and Gary Bridgewater.
