     Warren Berkley Spicer Jr. WEYERS CAVE — Warren Berkley Spicer Jr., 55, a resident of Weyers Cave, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born June 7, 1956, in Kearney, N.J., and is the son of Nellie G. Howdyshell of Weyers Cave and the late Warren B. Spicer Sr. Warren was preceded in death by his father and his stepfather, Elmer Lee Howdyshell. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Ronald Eugene Spicer and wife, Beth, and Bruce Richard Spicer and wife, Rosemary, all of Staunton; one sister, Priscilla Sheffer and husband, Curtis, of Fort Defiance; his favorite nephew, Curt Sheffer; a number of cousins, aunts and uncles; and two special friends, William and Steve. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave. A funeral service will be conducted following the visitation at 11 a.m., with the Revs. Everett Defibauch and Dennis Taylor officiating.      Ronald Eugene "Gene" Spicer Ronald Eugene "Gene" Spicer, 54, husband of Elizabeth Packer Spicer, of East Gay Street, Staunton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 29, 1959 in Karney, NJ, a son of Nellie G. Spicer Howdyshell and the late Warren B. Spicer. Mr. Spicer graduated from Fort Defiance High School where he played football. He trained in culinary arts while serving in the Marines. He was the former owner of Gene's Family Fun Center in Staunton and was the current owner of Sam's Hot Dogs in Harrisonburg. He was well known in the community, ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and had a spirit larger than life. He was an avid Redskins Fan and never missed a game. He was a former member of the Salvation Army Church of Staunton. In addition to his wife and mother, family members include a step-son, Danny Packer and his wife, Cindy, of Fishersville; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce R. and Rosemary Spicer of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla Spicer Sheffer and husband, Curtis, of Fort Defiance; two grandchildren, Jacob Hall and Grace Packer; a great grandchild, Sophia Hall; a nephew, Curtis Lee Sheffer; special friend, Roger Coffey; two canine babies, Bernie and Sophie; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was also preceded in death by a son, Chris Taylor; a brother, Warren B. Spicer, Jr; his step-father, Elmer L. Howdyshell; and special friend, Harry Powers.⁵ He was born on May 29, 1959 at Kearney, Essex Co., New Jersey.^4,5 He married Sandra Dee Hartman on October 31, 1986 at Newark, Essex Co., New Jersey.⁴ Ronald Eugene "Gene" Spicer and Sandra Dee Hartman were divorced on March 20, 1992 at Augusta Co., Virginia.⁴ Ronald Eugene "Gene" Spicer married Elizabeth Kay Graybill on February 14, 2006 at Staunton, Augusta Co., Virginia.² Ronald Eugene "Gene" Spicer died on July 7, 2013 at Staunton, Augusta Co., Virginia, at age 54.^3,5
