He was a former railroad worker, a Baptist minister, and a disabled Army veteran. Surviving: son, Joseph Edward of Clendenin; stepsons, Rev. Carl E. and James Keeton, of Walton, David C. and Dale S. Keeton and George E. Keaton, of Clendenin, Danny P. Keaton of Gandeeville; stepdaughter, Beverly L. Myers of Clendenin; sisters, Beatrice Flinner of Huntsville, Ala., Sarah "Vernie" Larch of Blue Creek, Madora Wayne of Clendenin; 34 stepgrandchildren; 34 stepgreat-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home, Elkview, with the Rev. Carl E. Keeton and the Rev. Calvin Ray officiating. Burial, with military rites by VFW Post 8516, Pinch-Quick, will be in Clendenin Memorial Gardens. on August 13, 1997.6
