John was preceded in death by his father, Beverly; mother, Memory; sister, Susan; brother, Ron; and daughter-in-law, Alisha. He is survived by his brothers, Michael and Greg; children, Leif (Elizabeth), Neil, Elijah, and Sarah; grandchildren, Eowyn, Charlie, and August; and many other loving family and friends. John B. Wood was born in Indiana and grew up mostly in the Roanoke Valley, where he graduated high school. Upon graduation, he spent approximately 20 years working for KFC in the region, working his way from cashier to regional manager. Once John graduated from Virginia Western Community College with a degree in Graphic design, he began working for Salem Printing. John moved out of Roanoke for several years before eventually settling into a job in Minnesota this past spring. John was a loving son, brother, and father who loved spending as much time as possible with his family. He enjoyed walking, jogging, hiking, fishing, and camping outside of work, especially spending hours with grandkids walking through neighborhoods and trails. Sports, especially baseball (LA Dodgers) and football (Miami Dolphins), were his favorite things to watch in his free time. The interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.3 He was born on February 7, 1964 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3 He married Amy Sadonna Craighead, daughter of James Everett Craighead and Martha Ann Wihelm, on March 5, 1986 at Roanoke, Virginia.1 John Beverly Wood and Amy Sadonna Craighead were divorced on October 25, 2005 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 John Beverly Wood died on December 14, 2024 at Virginia at age 60.3
