     Carlos Gene Mack Sr. was buried at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, New Castle Co., Delaware.2 He Carlos G. Mack, Sr., age 77, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family, Monday, September 25, 2017. Carlos loved sharing the Gospel of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He had a passion for teaching whether it was sharing his knowledge of the Bible or teaching truck driving at the American Training Academy. Carlos had many talents. He was a “Do It Yourself Man” and also enjoyed creative writing and public speaking. Carlos had a great interest in sports. As a young man he liked playing baseball and throughout his life enjoyed golfing. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. Besides the Lord, his absolute love and passion was his family who will cherish the memories of their sweet times together forever. Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara; children: Carlos Mack, Jr., Melinda Bonderer, Deborah Little, and Amy Broomall (Paul); grandchildren: Braelin, Jackson, Adam, Alexandra, Reagan, Mark, Julena, Gabriel, Paul Jr., and Cullan; siblings: Rosella Mack, Charity Calvert, Kenneth Mack (Linda), and Roy Mack (Janet); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Elsie Mack; granddaughter, Erin Mack; brother, Ronald Mack; and brother-in-law, David Yost. A visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 9:30-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Carlos’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.2 He was born on December 20, 1939 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia.1,4 He married Barbara Jean Alexander on August 25, 1961 at London, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.3 Carlos Gene Mack Sr. died on September 25, 2017 at Newark, New Castle Co., Delaware, at age 77.2

Born October 21, 1941 to Jesse Warden and Ruth Jane Pittman in Charleston, West Virginia. Margie attended DuPont High School. She gave her life to the Lord in 1973. That is when her music career took a big turn. She wrote her own songs and music becoming an accomplished musician releasing 7 albums. She had an award winning radio show in the Tri-State on WXIT called Afternoon's With Margie. New Years of 1979 her song "In The Lamb's Book" was the #1 Gospel song in the Tri-State. She served as a legal advocate for the Sister Help battered women's shelter in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Also, she was a very talented writer, publishing 5 books. Margie loved to help others and to spread the gospel. Preceded in death are her mother and father, brothers Daniel and Carson Pittman, sister, Judy Quentrill, and granddaughter, Sara Cooke. Left to cherish her memory; loving and devoted husband, Roy "Bert" Jernigan, brothers; Larry Pittman of Charleston, Roy (Wanda) Pittman of Charleston, Raymond (Judy) Pittman of Charleston, and David (Peggy) Pittman of Charleston; children; Sandy Debolt of St. Albans, Lorie (Brian) Baldwin of Charleston, Barbara (Jim) Reed of St. Albans, James "JR" (Lisa) Gilpen of Cross Lanes, and Michelle (Brian) Self of Cordova, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; family and friends. A Celebration of Margie’s life will be held Noon Friday January 6, 2017, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Edward Jarrett officiating.
