Survivors include his children, Pamela Mann of Glennville and Cindy Taylor of Surrency; brothers, Russell Taylor and Glenn Taylor of West Virginia; and grandsons, Robert Lowe, William Mann and David Taylor. Five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, October 21, at Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, W.Va., Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Dutch Ridge, W.Va. on October 19, 2011.2

Mr. Hiland was a resident of Texas for the past 10 years and was a member of Unity Christian Church in Maysville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Hiland; and his brother, Cecil Hiland. Mr. Hiland's working years were spent in the trucking industry, during which time he had been a professional over-the-road truck driver. He loved the open highway and enjoyed close friendships with his fellow drivers to whom he was well known as "Shake-Em-Up." Survivors include five children, Christine Canup, Toccoa, Ga., Timothy Hiland, Lavonia, Ga., Jamie Hiland, Carnesville, Ga., Carlton Lewis, Gainesville, Ga., and Donnie Ray Lewis; nine grandchildren; siblings, Frances Doss, Maysville, Louise Lord, Commerce, Otis Hiland, Maysville, Marilyn Moffett, Dickinson, Texas, Carl Hiland, Adairsville, Ga., and Jeanette Haynes, Jefferson, Ga; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and an aunt. Mr. Hiland also leaves behind his pet and constant companion of the past several years, his beloved Dachshund, Tripp. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 22, at Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce, with Ministers Jim Jacobs and Daniel Browning officiating.2 He married Debra Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of Edwin Hampton Taylor and Mildred Ruth "Millie" Shaffer.1 James Pat Hiland was born on July 11, 1953 at Maysville, Georgia.2 He died on March 14, 2018 at age 64.2

Her married name was Jones.4 Charlotte Anna Waugh Charlotte Anna Harter, 69, of Jones, Michigan, died on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 4:35 pm at her residence in Jones, Michigan with her family at her side. Mrs. Harter was born on June 25, 1946 in Blakely, West Virginia to the late Robert Rexal Waugh and Mary Francis (Butterworth) Hill. On July 6, 2000 in Goshen, Indiana she married Fred L. Harter, he survives in Jones, Michigan. She was the owner and operator of Morning Glory Day Care which is fondly known to many young children as “Nana’s House.” Charlotte deeply loved children and had a passion for taking care of them, she also enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family which she will be deeply missed by. Charlotte is survived by her husband Fred, three daughters and three sons in law; Lesa and David Dowden of Cassopolis, Michigan, Cynthia and Ron Ohner of Lehigh, Florida and Rhonda and Matthew Cloud of Union, Michigan. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and one great grandchild expected. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters; Tony Hill, Alice Workman, Kay Workman and Ruby Hahaj; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart; Pastor Andy Martin will officiate the service.
