She was a secretary/receptionist for an accountant’s office in Parkersburg, WV. She retired in 1989. In 1990 she moved to Charlotte. She is survived by her children, Karen (Myke) McKinney and husband, Michael, of Midland, NC; Jon Shorter and wife, Roma, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren Megan McKinney Geddings, Meredith McKinney Nelson, Madison Michele McKinney, and Chloe Easton Shorter; great-grandchildren Anderson Geddings, Abigail Geddings, and Avery Nelson, and her aunt Jean Bush Taylor and husband Don, Rutherford, NC. Family and friends are asked to gather at Sunset Memory Gardens for graveside services. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald Underwood. on December 6, 2010.2
