Mrs. Kunes and her late husband, William P. Kunes who died August 1, 2000, were totally devoted to one another as husband and wife, but also totally devoted parents and grandparents. Mrs. Kunes is survived by one son, Robert M. Kunes and his wife, Noel H. Kunes of Charleston and by two grandsons, Robert M. Kunes, Jr. and his wife, Julie Bennett Kunes of Toland Connecticut and by her grandson, David H. Kunes of Columbia, SC and by two nieces, Mrs. Judy Goetzinger and her husband David of Livonia, Michigan and Mrs. Jane Ullery and her husband, William of Columbia, SC and by one nephew, William T. Bell, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Fountain Inn, SC and a cousin, Mrs. Ellen Butler of Greenville, SC. Mrs. Kunes was predeceased by her husband, William P. Kunes; her granddaughter, Julia Allison Kunes and her brothers, William Thomas Bell and Joseph Mitchell Bell. He was employed as a forming operator with the diesel facility of Corning Inc. for twenty seven years. He was also the recording secretary for United Steel Workers Union, local #1000 and an avid Union rep. Emmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a huge Baltimore Orioles and Green Bay Packers fan. He, Arlene and Erick traveled many times to area fishing and sporting events which also included Ericks sporting events. Emmer played and also officiated college and high school Lacrosse for twenty years. He is survived by his wife: Arlene (Lazore) Hodge, one son Erickson Hodge of Corning, NY; two brothers: Ken (Nancy) Hodge of Delmar, NY, and Richard Hodge of Corning, NY; nephews: Michael (Sandra) Hodge, Scott (Katie) Hodge, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Emmer was predeceased by his parents Robert and Betty, and mother-in-law Shirley Lazore and a niece Nicole Stigers. on March 18, 2014.1
