Carol Sue Tabor Carol Sue Tabor Allen, 65, of Marie, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington following a short illness. Born June 6, 1946 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late Vaden Ryan Tabor Sr. and Ernestine Meadows Tabor. After high school Sue worked for the U.S. Marine Corps in Washington D.C. After returning to Summers County she worked at the old Hinton Hospital then worked as a cook for the Summers County Board of Education at Talcott School, Summers Co. High School and retiring at the Summers Co. Middle School with 25 years of service. Following retirement she work at the Summers Nursing and Rehab. Center. Sue was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Ballengee. Survivors include: Her husband of 45 years Michael Allen; Four brothers: Vaden Ryan "Pete" Tabor of Ballengee, Warren Tabor (Louise) of Talcott, Dean Tabor (Anita), Gene Tabor (Cindy), Michael Tabor (Carla), all of Marie. Three sisters: Judy King (Dennis) of Roanoke, Va., Jeanett Hutchens of Beckley; Lynn Tabor of Atlanta, Ga. mother-in-law Dua (Marie) Allen of Marie; 17 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4 2011 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Ballengee with Revs. Sam Haught and Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton and at the church one hour prior to services on Friday. Pallbearers will be Paul "Buddy" Light, John Donnely, Richie Rodes, Joe Blankenship, Daniel Beachy, and Daniel Kinsinger. Helen is survived by a loving and devoted family which includes her husband, Jessie O. Parker; daughter, Tiffany Cottle and husband, James, of Sun; two sons, Jessie Parker Jr. and wife, Norma Kay, of Pliney and Jimmy Patrick Parker and wife, Lesie Nicole, of Ceredo; one brother, Alfred Houston "Pete" Cox and wife, Jo Ann, of Oak Hill; three sisters, Iris Cox Poole Fortner of Oak Hill, Diana Sue Cox Walker of Mount Hope and Eunice Carroll Totten of Sun; and eight grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Mount Hope First Assembly of God with Pastor Jessie Parker and the Rev. Joan Terry officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. on May 1, 2014.2
