(Lutz) Hulings, 100, passed away on March 10, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born Oct. 17, 1916 in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of the late Adam and Mary E. Lutz. She was the middle child of 7 children, was a graduate of Clarion High School and the Oil City School of Nursing. She married Willis W. Hulings in 1941. She worked as an industrial nurse at Owens Illinois Glass Co in Clarion, PA for many years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarion for over 40 years and was a resident of Clarion for more than 50 years. In 1978 she moved to Arizona for health reasons and spent 27 years of her time in Arizona residing in the Florence area. During the summer months, for 22 years she resided in Payson, Arizona, a mountain town that reminded her of Clarion. She relocated to Springfield, IL in 2007. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willis W. Hulings, brothers Bob and Addie Lutz, sisters Alberta Guntrum, Katherine Sallade, Ann Shingledecker, and Merry Skaggs. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Kay (Clark) McKee of Springfield, IL, her son Wayne (Cynthia) Hulings of Hemet, CA, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church, 321 South Seventh St., Springfield, IL with a memorial visitation from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E.      Her Social Security Number was 159-20-5829.3 Bernadine Bridget Kurtzhals Bernadine “Fox” B. Hulings, 89, of Shippenville, died early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013, at the Clarion Hospital. Born August 27, 1924 in Shippenville; she was the daughter of Henry and Mary Laughlin Kurtzhals. She lived at the old homestead all of her life. Bernadine worked at the former Rhea’s Corner Restaurant in Shippenville a waitress before being employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Plant where she worked in the selecting department “A” shift. She retired in 1986 after 26 years. Whether it was solitaire, 500 bid with family and friends, or rummy with her grandkids, she loved playing cards. She was also an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and never missed an episode of Jeopardy or The Young and the Restless. With her quick wit and feistiness, she was always the life of the party. She had a kind heart, warm smile, and gentle touch. She loved having family and friends together and looked forward to the Kurtzhals family reunion every year, where she would share her famous potato salad, ham, and baked beans. Bernadine was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fryburg. She is survived by her three children, Jim Hulings and his wife, Brenda, of Fayetteville, GA, Theresa “Byrd” Hulings of Shippenville, and Paula Titus and her husband, Ray, of Greenwich, NJ; six grandchildren, John Hulings, Jimmy Hulings and his wife, Tonya, all from Georgia, Greta Mahle and her husband, Jim, of Shippenville, and Scott Titus, Alicia Titus, and Nick Titus and his wife, Kim, all of New Jersey; six great grandchildren, Jared Dolmovich, Savannah and Cody Hulings, and Colin, Ashley, and Jacob Titus; and one step-great granddaughter, Becky Myers and her husband, Doug. Also surviving is a brother, Tom Kurtzhals of Shippenville. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, coworkers, friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Henry, Larry, and Dick Kurtzhals; and sisters, Mary Finkbeiner, Frances Wagner, Anna Rumburger, Florence Loll, and an infant sister, Bertha Kurtzhals. The family would like to thank Dr. Stevenson, Dr. Cunningham, and all the nursing staff at Clarion Hospital who took extraordinary care of her the short while she was there.  Also to the wonderful staff of VNA Hospice.2 She was born on August 27, 1924 at Shippenville, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.3,2 As of 1945,her married name was Hulings.1 She married Paul S.
