Hall, of Montoursville, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2017, at the Valley View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was a daughter of the late Ida G. (Laffin) Jewell and Wells H. Jewell, Jersey Shore. On Aug. 7, 1970, she married the late Dale (Curly) K. Hall who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2003. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. Barbara was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Lee Tobias, on Jan. 13, 2017. A 1947 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, Barbara attended the Williamsport Technical Institute, forerunner of Pennsylvania College of Technology. Thereafter she worked in various secretarial positions in many local businesses. In addition, having taken advanced piano lessons from the late Mary Landon Russell, Barbara taught piano to numerous students throughout the years. In 2005 she took organ lessons from Carole Waltz and thereafter worked as a church organist in several churches, her final position being at Central Baptist Church, Williamsport. Barbara was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville, and the Williamsport Music Club. She enjoyed family gatherings, dinners out with friends, attending and performing at the Music Club and attending her monthly class meetings. She was also a lifelong fan of Penn State football and major league baseball and football. Recently she had been working at perfecting her Spanish language skills. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sharyn M. Eckman (Jim), of Montoursville; her granddaughter and 2 stepgrandchildren all of Lock Haven; her sister Mary Jane Keller, of Tyrone. She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Marcella (David) Moharter, of Arlington, Texas, and Joanne (Bob) Machold, of Tucson, Ariz; a stepgrandchild, of Arlington, Texas. In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by five siblings: Sarah White, Neil Jewell, Vera Cramer, Frances Karnish, and Edith Devine, and by her companion of 10 years, James “Bubby” Bubb. A joint memorial service to honor the lives of Barbara and her son Michael will be held at Central Baptist Church, 601 Seventh Ave., Williamsport. Burial will be at Twin Hills Memorial Park. on May 31, 2017.2

He grew up in Lock Have, PA and graduated from Lock Haven High School. After high school he joined the Navy and served in World War II. He was the owner of the Don Welch Motor Company in Lock Haven from 1962 to 1985. In 1944 he married Rosanna Goodnight from the state of Indiana who passed away in 1972. He then married Jane Fisher who passed away in 1999. His surviving family members include his son, Donald C. and Judy Welch, daughter, Suzanne and Jess Sigmund, 5 Grandchildren and his special friend of many years, Ann Pursel. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at The Sterling House in Lehigh Acres, Florida. on March 21, 2013.3

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church by the Reverend Aaron if Bellefonte. Burial was in the Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Stricker was born at Beavertown. Many years ago he was a fireman on stationary boilers, later conducting a saddle shop. His last position was a janitor at the Blanchard Schools, which duties he relinquished five years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors were three daughters: Mrs. William Durkin of Monument, Mrs. Fred Miller and Mrs. John Heichel of Blanchard; one sister, Mrs. Jane Shambaugh of Lykens, and three brothers. Henry of Aaronsburg: Ross of Endicott, New York, and Mains of Niagara Falls. New York. A son, Frank, died three months ago at St. Marys. Mrs. Stricker, the former Carrie Kunes, died nine years ago. on November 29, 1938.1

Durkin, Beech Creek; Lee, Blanchard; Joseph, Orville, Ala; Mrs. Raymand Phillips, Dover, Del; Clair, and Miss June Durkin, Lock Haven; Mrs. William MacMillan, Parma, Ohio; Mrs. Martha Earner, Williamsport, and Mrs. Thomas Vilello, Lock Haven. on September 11, 1967.2

Born July 15, 1914 in Blanchard, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Anne Elizabeth Stricker Durkin. He was married to Hazel Phillips Durkin on May 31, 1941 in Monument. She survives at home. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Mr. Durkin worked for General Refractories Brick Yard in Beech Creek and Harbison-Walker of Monument. He then worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock haven until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Camp Big Pine on Beech Creek Mountain. He enjoyed hunting, all types of gardening and above all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are a daughter, Carol and husband, Jack Robison of Mingoville; a son, Ken and wife, Fran Durkin of Bellefonte; a sister, Joanne Vilello of Lock Haven; three grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Greg Herman, Jill and husband, Mike Weaver and Shawn Robison; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Durkin, on July 24, 1992. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003 in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Rev. Stan D. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard.
