     Robert B. Harley Robert B. Harley, 65 of Kennerdell, died Sunday evening, December 27, 2015 at his residence. Bob was born February 11, 1950 in Oil City. He was a 1968 graduate of Cranberry High School. Bob proudly severed three years with the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He spent two tours of duty in Vietnam and received two bronze stars. He worked at Sears in the Cranberry Mall for 20 years and at Hovis Auto Supply in Oil City for 15 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing games on the computer and watching the bear and deer in his yard. Bob is survived by his mother, Betty J. Harley of Kennerdell; a brother, John Harley and his wife Marie of Ashtabula, OH; his step-brother, Garry Harley of Georgia; and a sister Linda Fox and her husband Richard B. from Kennerdell. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Harley, step-sister, Betty Olsen and her husband Larry. At Bob's request there was no visitation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin. Graveside services were held at Rockland Cemetery with Rev. Randy Kightlinger, VNA Chaplain, officiating. Full military honors were rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard at the cemetery.2 He was buried at Rockland Cemetery, Rockland, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.2 He was born on February 11, 1950 at Oil City, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.2 He died on December 27, 2015 at Kennerdell, Venango Co., Pennsylvania, at age 65.2

Born January 24, 1972 in Franklin she was the daughter of Richard and Linda Harley Fox. She was a 1990 graduate of Cranberry Area High School. Sue Ann also graduated from ETI Technical College where she earned her BA in Electronic Engineering. She loved animals, especially wolves and was a member of the Cleveland Zoo where she visited frequently. Sue Ann also loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and her Jeep. On September 4, 1993, she married William Krepps in Rockland and he survives. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a brother; David Fox and his wife Susan of Venus; two nephews, Steven Fox and Nicholas Fox; her maternal grandmother, Betty Harley of Rockland and many aunts and uncles. Family and friends welcome Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. - Noon at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin. Born in Hueffner, Pa., on Feb. 9, 1913, he was a son of Bert and Florence Barr Kaness. On June 25, 1960, he married the former Sylvia G. Beers, who survives. He was a farmer for 28 years. He also had worked for 19 years for the City of Oil City, in the water department, until his retirement in 1980. Mr. Kaness was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oil City. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, John Slater of Homosassa Springs, Fla; five daughters, Mrs. Louis (Nora) Heber of Rouseville, Mrs. Phillip (Vicki) Schall of Oil City, Mrs. Benjamin (Gale) Taylor of New Tripoli, Beth Kaness of Oil City and Mrs. Arnold (Tammi) Manning of Meadville; two brothers, Charles Kaness of Corsica and Wayne Kaness of Rouseville; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) O’Neil of Brookville; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Slater; four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, with the Rev. George Lockhart, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Tylersburg Cemetery. on March 5, 1988.5 He died on March 5, 1988 at Erie, Erie Co., Pennsylvania, at age 75.3,9,11,5

     Ivan Augusta Kaness was buried at Tylersburg Cemetery, Tylersburg, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.3,6 He was born on August 25, 1916 at Huefner, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania; His obituary has a birth year of 1915.3,4,5,9 He died on October 25, 1949 at Harborcreek, Erie Co., Pennsylvania, at age 33; Died in an auto accident.3,5 He Ivan A. Kaness, 34, a World War II veteran, of Rouseville, died instantly at 12:15 a. m. today when the car he was driving hit a tree, overturned and caught fire about six miles east of Erie on Route 20. Lawrence Park State Police said Kaness apparently fell asleep. Harborcreek firemen extinguished the fire and extracted Kaness from the car before he was seriously burned, police said. Death was caused by a crushed chest and neck fractures, they stated. The deceased was born on Aug. 26, 1915, at Huefner, Clarion County, and was employed by the New York Central at its car repair shop in Harborcreek. Kaness served for three and one half years with the Army Engineers in the South Pacific during the recent war and was a member of the local V.F.W. Post. Besides his parents, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mabel Gesin, of Marienville: Albert, of Harborcreek; Lawrence, of Miola; Russell, Wayne and Charles, all of Rouseville; Mrs. Dorothy O'Neill, of Brookville, and Mrs. Betty Sparks, Oil City. on October 26, 1949.5

Dorothy was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville. She loved to play cards. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Surviving relatives include her daughter Cheryl (Philip) Popp of Georgia; three sons, Richard (Doris) O'Neill of Muncy, PA, Daniel (Millie) O'Neill of South Carolina, Terrence (Cathy) O'Neill of Brookville, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband Dorothy is preceded in death by six brothers, Harry, Albert, Lawrence, Russell, Ivan, Charles, and Wayne Kaness, and two sisters, Mable Kaness Gesin and Betty Kaness Sparks. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville with Father William Laska presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co. on June 16, 2015.3

Mr. Kaness was born on July 13, 1921 in Huefner to the late Bert and Florence Barr Kaness. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He entered the service on Sept. 1, 1942, in Erie and was assigned to Company E Shore Battalion 543rd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment Third Engineer Special Brigade. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 3, 1946, at Fort Knox, Ky., with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. Following his discharge from the service, Mr. Kaness was employed by New York Central as an inspector. He retired from Alltel Corp. on Aug. 1, 1986, where he was a purchaser of right-a-way property for the telephone company. Mr. Kaness married Betty F. Goodwill Hasbrouck on Dec. 3, 1994, in the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Bruce Shorts Post #5958 V.F W and the Cleo J. Ross Post #368 American Legion. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was formerly an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Kaness is survived by his wife of Titusville; three daughters, Carolyn Hamilton and her husband, Mark, of Marlcle, Ind., Shirley Heinsch and her husband, William, of Woodstock, Ga., and Constance Kaness and her fiance, Grant Scarborough, of Kennesaw, Ga; a stepdaughter, Charlotte Foresther, and her husband, Kevin, of Titusville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one sister, Dorothy O'Neill, of Brookville; one brother, Wayne Kaness, and his wife, Barbara, of Rouseville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two wives, Phyllis Frazier Kaness and June Dick Kaness; seven brothers; and two sisters. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Dr. Barry E. Cressman, officiating. Interment will be in Melat Cemetery, Rockland Township, Venango County. on January 29, 2004.7
