Lewis, 87, Bloomsburg, formerly of Ulysses, died Sunday (June 9, 1968) in Bloomsburg Hospital of complications following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ulysses, March 15, 1881, a son of the late C. A. and Kate Cushing Lewis. Mr. Lewis attended schools in Ulysses and Coudersport and was graduated from Peddie School, Hightstown, N.J., in 1903, and attended Brown and Cornell Universities. Although he worked in the Auditor General's office in Harrisburg, he later returned to Potter County to raise seed potatoes. During WWI, Mr. Lewis was an inspector for the U.S. Navy at the A.C. and F. at Berwick, Pa. Later he helped organize the Central Forging Co. of Catawissa which subsequently became the Maxi Manufacturing Co., and Catawissa Valve and Fitting Co. He served as sales manager. Failing health forced him to retire in 1953. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg in which he was ruling elder. He was a member of Ulysses Lodge, F.&.A.M., 32nd degree Mason of Bloomsburg Scottish Rite Lodge, and charter and life member of the Lion's Club. Mr. Lewis and his wife, the former Winifred Beckley, had been married 55 years. Surviving besides his wife are a son, George, Natchitoches, La; a daughter, Mrs. Eugenie Swisher, New Cumberland; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12. Interment was in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. on June 19, 1968.²

He was born July 7, 1908 in Catawissa, PA and had been a resident of Vero Beach for the past 23 years moving here from Bloomsburg, PA. Mr. Beckley was an attorney and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Consistory in Bloomsburg and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Surviving are his nephew, John B. Waters of San Diego, CA and one sister, Charlotte Boyer of Vero Beach. He was predeceased by his wife, Iva Mae "Pat'' Beckley. There will be no services. on January 21, 2004.⁵

     Robert Frank Beckley was buried at Old Rosemont Cemetery, 1 East First Street, Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., Pennsylvania.¹ He was born on November 26, 1894 at Pennsylvania.³ He died on September 28, 1909 at Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, at age 14.² He Frank Beckley, aged 14, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Beckley, of 218 Hamilton street, died at the Harrisburg hospital last evening of typhoid fever. Mrs. Harry Beckley, a sister-in-law of Frank Beckley, is in the hospital also with typhoid fever. She has not been told of his death and does not know that she has the same disease that he had. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from his home, 218 Hamilton street, conducted by the Rev. B. H. Hart. The body will be taken to Bloomsburg by C. H. Mauk, where interment will be made. on September 30, 1909.²

     Annie W. Leidy was buried at East Harrisburg Cemetery, 2260 Herr Street, Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania.^4,2 He was born on September 19, 1857 at Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., Pennsylvania.^5,2 He married Annie W. Beckley, daughter of Daniel A. Beckley and Amanda Devling, on September 13, 1887 at Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., Pennsylvania.^2,1,3 James C. Leidy died on October 10, 1939 at Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, at age 82.²

     William Polsgrove was buried at Dunnstown Cemetery, Dunnstown, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania; Apparently died in infancy.¹
