     Edith Lavonne Minser was buried at Faith United Methodist Church Cemetery, Belsano, Cambria Co., Pennsylvania.2 Her married name was Smith.1 She married Clifford Fredrick Smith, son of Thomas George Smith and Viola A. "Ode" Cole.1,2 Edith Lavonne Minser was born on December 8, 1926 at Wehrum, Indiana Co., Pennsylvania.2 She died on December 26, 2016 at Ebensburg, Cambria Co., Pennsylvania, at age 90.2 She SMITH – Edith Lavonne (Misner), passed away on December 26, 2016, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg, formerly of Nanty Glo. She was affectionately known by all who knew her as Edie. Edie was born December 8, 1926, in Wherum, PA, to Merton Louis Misner and Elva Ellen (Good) Misner. She was the fifth child of 12 children. The Misner family settled in RedMill. Preceded in death are her husband, Clifford F. Smith, and son, Paul T. Smith, six sisters and four brothers. She is survived by two sisters, Elnora Miller (Strongstown) and Louise Sheets (Oregon); three children, Sally (Gary S. Lech), Oregon; Jean and Robert Mardis, Belsano; and Fred and Bonnie Smith, Nanty Glo; nine grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Edie was a member of the Nanty Glo Church of God for over 60 years and was one of the last elders to help expand and shape the growth and theological direction of the church. She loved crafting, crocheting and completing word-search puzzles. She was an excellent country cook and her scratchmade bread was the absolute best. She was a resident of Cambria Care for almost five years, where she made many friends and received excellent care. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Grane Hospice, the nurses, nurse’s aides and all those involved in her care and well being during her final years. Edie loved her family, her church family and her family at Cambria Care. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Cardiff Road Church of God, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Robert Westrick, officiating. Interment to follow in Belsano United Brethren Cemetery. on December 27, 2016.2

Born Oct. 12, 1958, in Colver, son of the late Clifford Smith and Edith (Misner) Smith. Survived by mother; daughters, Christal Palmer, Nanty Glo; and Miranda Markley, and husband, Brock, Claysburg. Also survived by sister, Sally Smith, and husband, Gary Lech, Monroe, Ore; sister, Jean Mardis, and husband, Robert, Belsano; brother, Fred Smith, and wife, Bonnie, Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Shelby Palmer, Austin Vaughn and Jesse Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved watching the games, and hanging out with the Chilcott family. He retired from the Ebensburg Center, where he was employed for 32 years. He was a loyal member of the Nanty Glo Moose 207. We will miss Paul's great sense of humor and his unique way to turn a phrase. He enjoyed taking photographs and relaxing outdoors. on September 12, 2012.1
