Services will be 2PM following the visitation. Burial will follow services at Maple Hill Cemetery. Wanda was born March 26, 1937 in Knoxville, TN to Horace and Nola Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clyde J. Scott on July 9, 2011, son: Gerald Haynes and brother: Patrick Brown. Zella was born on June 10, 1917, at White Top, Va., daughter of the late John Henry Sexton and Rosa Victoria Barker Sexton. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis D. Epperly Sr; her daughter and son-in-law, Janice Lecates and Rev. Bruce Lecates; an infant daughter, Celia Epperly; sons, Hollis D. Epperly Jr., and Dennis Edwin Epperly; son-in-law, Mike Jacobs; a sister, Willia Sexton Epperly; brothers, Rev. Willis Sexton, Arnold Sexton, and Delmar Sexton; and granddaughters, Pamela Linda Epperly and Michelle Epperly. She was a homemaker and professional seamstress. Zella was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness/Wesleyan Church of Fayetteville from the time of her youth until approximately 1990 when she joined the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. Surviving: sons, Dale Epperly and wife Judy of Fayetteville, Jack Epperly and wife Linda of South Charleston, Bill Epperly and wife Pam of Jackson, Mich; daughters Cherrill Jacobs of Zanesville, Ohio, and Marcia Neil and her husband, Robert, of Fayetteville, with whom she had made her home for the past year; sisters, Emma Sexton of Oak Hill and Rosella Goss of Jackson, Mich; 28 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life was held Aug. 25 at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Jerry Bush officiating. Burial followed in Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville. on September 5, 2012.²

Mrs. Lecates was born on November 1, 1939 in Gatewood, WV to Zella Epperly and the late Hollis Epperly. She was a 1957 graduate of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, WV. She later earned her Associates Degree in Secretarial Sciences from Eastern Pilgrim Holiness College in Allentown, PA. Mrs. Lecates served alongside her husband, Rev. Bruce O. Lecates, in pastoral ministries for 49 years. Together they pastored in The Wesleyan Church in the states of Maryland, Texas, and Delaware. She worked as a legal secretary for several law firms and then worked in the Wicomico County School system at Delmar Elementary and North Salisbury Elementary as a school secretary until she retired in 1994. Mrs. Lecates has served in various leadership positions at the local, district, and denominational levels for Wesleyan Women International. She served on the executive team for the Chesapeake District Ladies Spectacular for many years. She also served as the registrar for Denton Wesleyan Camp. Her most recent hobbies included playing dominoes, Sudoku, and connecting with family and friends on Facebook. In addition to her father, Mrs. Lecates is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bruce Lecates. She is survived by her mother Zella Epperly of Fayetteville, WV; her three daughters and their husbands Dawn and George Owens of Sharptown, MD, Rebecca & John Wood of Hamburg, NY, and Marilyn & Robert Searcey of Delmar, DE; her ten grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, E.J. Ariel, Kelsi, Luke, Staci, Hannah, Caleb, and Micah; her siblings Cheryl Jacobs of Zanesville, OH, Bill Epperly of Jackson, MI, Marcia Neil of Fayetteville, WV, Sonny Epperly of Fayetteville, WV, and Jack Epperly of South Charleston, WV. He was born on Friday, Jan. 24, 1930, in Montgomery, W.Va. the son of the late Mike and Virginia "Jenny" Jacobs Jacobs. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, was the owner and operator of 20th Century Bar and Carryout and retired from the Teamsters Local 637 in 1992 after 25 years of service. He loved sharing time with his family, was always up for a game of cards and found many reasons for driving his riding tractor. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cherrill A. (Epperly) Jacobs, of the home, who he married on Monday, July 4, 1955. Michael is survived by six daughters, Sharon Jacobs of Zanesville, Connie (Harry) Kaloydis of Nashport, Deborah Adams of Gillsville, Ga., Theresa (Roger) Myers of Zanesville, Linda (Bryan) Lake of Norwich, Pamela Jacobs of Zanesville; three sons, Michael J. (Mena) Jacobs III of Tallahassee, Fla., David A. (Cindy) Jacobs of New Concord and Terry W. Jacobs of Nashport; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas A. (Sally) Jacobs of Pratt, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Elizabeth Jacobs and one brother William J.B. Jacobs. He touched the lives of many people and will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, with Christian Vigil at 3:30 p.m. and the Rosary being recited at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Luke Turon as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Zanesville. on December 27, 2006.³
