He was a member of Rancho Cordova Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus there, the Gower American Legion, the Plattsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Moose Lodge in St. Joseph, and the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame in Gower. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Patton. Surviving: his wife, Kathleen Helberg, of the home; a daughter, Sue Ellen Rose, Gower; two brothers, Mack J., Webster Grove, Mo., and John, Gower; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower. Burial, Calvary Cemetery, Plattsburg, Mo., with American Legion Flag Folding Ceremony and graveside services. on May 25, 1989.2
