He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Region during World War II. He met Marjo in Melbourne in March 1945 when stationed at Banana River Naval Air Station, now Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB). Otis moved to Melbourne from Roanoke, VA and they were married in July 1946. Otis worked for Indian River Gas Company, was Owner/Agent for Ryder Truck Lines, and is now retired from Civil Service with PAFB. He was Area Coordinator for the Melbourne Boy Scout troop in the 1960's, was Exaulted Ruler for the Elks Club, President of the Melbourne Exchange Club, a member of the Melbourne Masonic Lodge, and chairman of the Advisory Board for the Harbor City Rainbow Assembly. Both Otis and Marjo have been very active in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. He was an honorable man who always put his church and family first. He will be missed by many, but his strength, caring and loving support will be everlasting to those whose lives he touched. on January 6, 2011.²
