Born July 1, 1929 at Widemouth, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. Davis and Rosa L. Davis Davis. Mrs. Goad was a charter member for more than 60 years of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lashmeet. Since 2002 she was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Lashmeet. She was a former employee of the Ben Franklin Store and A&P Grocery in Matoaka. She worked in the PX at Fort Hood, Texas. She was a former employee of Murphy Insurance Agency in Matoaka and Princeton for several years. She served on the Board of Directors of the Mercer County Heart Association for several years and later served as the Field Director for seven counties in southern West Virginia for the American Heart Association. She was secretary/treasurer of the Lashmeet Public Service District and later served on the Board of Directors. In her spare time she enjoyed antiques and collectibles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Goad in 1998; an infant son, Joel Keith Goad; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Davis Survivors include one daughter, Kim McKinney and her husband Patrick of Beeson; two grandsons, Michael Joseph Davis and his wife Melissa and Jed Davis all of Lashmeet; one great-grandson, Joshua Ryan Davis of Lashmeet; and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. on August 26, 2012.2
