     Judge Glen Morgan Williams was buried at Lee Memorial Gardens, 1986 Hickory Circle Road, Pennington Gap, Lee Co., Virginia.3 He Judge Glen Morgan Williams, 92, until recently a resident of Jonesville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Appalachian Christian Village, Johnson City, Tennessee. Judge Williams was born February 17, 1920, to Hughie and Hattie May Williams. He was valedictorian of Jonesville High School (1936) and graduated magna cum laude from Milligan College (1940). A 1948 graduate of the University of Virginia Law School, he was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Raven Society and the Virginia Law Review editorial board. He engaged in the private practice of law for the next thirty years, during which time he served as Commonwealth's Attorney for Lee County (1948-52) and the Virginia State Senate (1953-55). In 1976, he was appointed by President Gerald Ford to the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. A member of the "Greatest Generation," Judge Williams entered active duty in the United States Navy in 1942 and served until 1946. He was commanding officer of the minesweeper USS Seer. Military awards and decorations include the Atlantic Theater Ribbon, Mediterranean Theater Ribbon with two stars, Pacific Theater ribbon with one star and Citation from Commander, Minecraft, Pacific Fleet. A lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Pennington Gap, Virginia, he was a trustee and elder and for many years taught the Adult Sunday School Class. He served on the board of trustees for Milligan College and the Appalachian School of Law. He also served on the founding committee and board of the University of Virginia's College at Wise. His civic participation included membership in the Jonesville Lions Club, American Legion, Preston Lodge #47, and several other attendant Masonic bodies. He is survived by his wife, Jane Slemp Williams, of Johnson City, TN; daughters, Susan Williams Laningham and husband, Lee, of Jonesville, VA, Judith Williams Jagdmann and husband, Joe, of Richmond, VA, Rebecca Williams Morel, of McKenney, TX, and Melinda Williams Jones and husband, Richard, of Jonesville, VA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Bellamy and husband, Justin, of Houston, TX, Stuart Laningham, of Richmond, VA, Emily Jagdmann and Daniel Jagdmann, of Richmond, VA, Jacob Morel, of McKenney, TX, and Janie Woliver, Morgan Woliver and Alana Jones, of Jonesville, VA; brothers, Don Williams and wife, Patty, of Pennington Gap, VA, Lowell Williams, of Jonesville, VA; and sister, Wanda Williams Scott and husband, George, of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.2 He was born on February 17, 1920 at Jonesville, Lee Co., Virginia.10,2,3,4 He married Betty Geraldine Calton on July 18, 1953 at Pennington Gap, Lee Co., Virginia.5 Judge Glen Morgan Williams and Betty Geraldine Calton were divorced on January 14, 1961 at Lee Co., Virginia.6 Judge Glen Morgan Williams married Jane Slemp on November 17, 1962 at Pennington Gap, Lee Co., Virginia.2,3,5 Judge Glen Morgan Williams died on November 4, 2012 at Johnson City, Washington Co., Tennessee, at age 92.10,2,3

     Donald Merle "Don" Williams Sr. was born on June 26, 1935 at Lee Co., Virginia.3 He married Patricia Ann "Patty" Wade on June 12, 1964 at Saint Charles, Lee Co., Virginia.4 Donald Merle "Don" Williams Sr. died on October 9, 2017 at Lee Co., Virginia, at age 82.5 He PENNINGTON GAP, VA - Coach Donald Williams Sr. was a graduate of Jonesville High School, Milligan College, and obtained his Masters Degree in Education from Union College. He was the Volunteer State Tennis Champion at Milligan. He and Coach Duard Walker were the only two people to letter in four sports while at Milligan. Don was inducted into the Milligan College Hall of Fame. After college, he began teaching and coaching at Dryden High School, and later served in the United States Army where he served at Ft. Hollibird in Baltimore, Maryland in counter intelligence. He received the honor of being named Solider of the Month, which was the highest award given on base. Upon leaving the military he became a teacher and coach again with the Lee County Public Schools. At one time he coached football, basketball (boys and girls), baseball, volleyball, track, tennis, cross-country, and golf at Dryden, St. Charles, Pennington, Coeburn and Lee High School. During his football Coaching Career he won 17 district championships and 6 regional championships in 23 years. Coach Williams continued serving his community after his retirement from teaching and coaching. He was a founding member of the Lee County Soccer Association, Lights in the Park and Lee Players. He served as Chairman of both the Lee County Board of Supervisors and Lee County School Board. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Hughey and Hattie May Hines Williams; two brothers, Judge Glen Williams and Hughey Williams Jr; three sisters, Maxie Orr, Mary Ruth Clark and Wanda Scott. Don is survived by his loving wife, Patty Williams of the home; two sons, Don Williams Jr and wife Shannon of Pennington Gap, VA and Kevin Williams and wife Blairanne of Bowling Green, Ky; five grandchildren, Adessa Ramsey, Drew Williams, Aaron Williams, Alexandria Williams, and Brantlee Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Maness and Maci Ramsey. He was also survived by his brother, Lowell Williams of Jonesville, VA. on October 11, 2017.5
