Michelle Elise Masse Michelle Elise Ellis, age 53, passed away peacefully at her home in Arroyo Grande, on December 3, 2015. Her husband Lee and her niece Savannah held her hands and shared their love with her in her final hours. Ovarian cancer took her life but never touched her sense of humor. Michelle was born in Montebello, Calif., in January 1962 and raised in Pasadena, Calif. She attended Pasadena Alternative Middle School and graduated from John Muir High School. Michelle moved to Ventura later in life, and graduated from Ventura College with a degree in nursing. While in Ventura, she worked as an RN at two of the local hospitals and a plastic surgery center. Michelle met Lee Ellis on Match.com in 2004. By a lucky alignment of stars, he convinced her to move to Arroyo Grande so they could be together. They were married on January 3, 2005, in San Luis Obispo and she lived out the rest of her days in Arroyo Grande. As an RN, Michelle worked as a floor nurse and later became Director of Critical Care at Arroyo Grande Hospital. She found the job of her dreams when she became the Nurse Navigator for the Hearst Cancer Resource Center. She supported over 1,000 patients and their families to help them navigate the scary, foreign world of a cancer diagnosis. She loved her patients and they loved her. Michelle is survived by her husband, Lee; niece, Savannah Creech; sisters, Andrea Masse, Cheryl Masse, and Natalie Masse (Jan); mother, Kay Masse (Brian); son, Paul Hesson, and nephews, Nathan and Henry Schnekluth. Michelle’s father, Fern Masse, preceded her in death.4 She was born on January 9, 1962 at Montebello, Los Angeles Co., California.1,4 As of May 12, 1984,her married name was Hesson.3 She married Bruce Harold Hesson on May 12, 1984 at Los Angeles Co., California.3 As of January 3, 2005,her married name was Ellis.4 Michelle Elise Masse married Lee Ellis on January 3, 2005 at San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo Co., California.4 Michelle Elise Masse died on December 3, 2015 at Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo Co., California, at age 53.4
