Mr. Whitacre is survived by four sons, H. J. Whitacre and T. J. Whitacre, both of Amarillo; John Whitacre of El Cajon, Calif., George Whitacre of Colorado Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Tate Walker of Amarillo, Mrs. Jack Wilkenson, of Portsmouth, Va., Mrs. Allen Kres of Northfork, Va., and Mrs. Carl Hearne of Houston; and 14 grandchildren. Mrs. Whitacre died her Aug 29, 1953. on September 25, 1959.7

Wilkinson Jr. of Virginia Beach. A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, by the Rev. Walter C. Hunting. on January 27, 1994.5

Arrangements by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Tate married Patricia Whitacre on Aug. 9, 1974, in Amarillo. He loved to camp, fish and ride his motorcycle and Volkswagen in the mountains. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Kevin Whitacre; a daughter, Keri Tate; two brothers, Robert and Charles Tate; and a sister, Daisy Pippins. on October 29, 2006.5
