Eleanor was born on April 14, 1926, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, to Elmer Clay and Pearl Gooch (Allen) Pierce. She was the owner of the former Rae's Ceramics. On March 16, 1941, Eleanor married Thomas Lloyd Grey, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1994. Surviving are her children, Judy Rae (Randy) McElravy of South Bend, Patsy Jean (Gene) Howard of Charleston, North Carolina, R. Gail (Tom) Budzinski of South Bend, Thomas C. (Belinda) Grey of Chattanooga, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Patsy (Bill) Mays and a brother, Jerry (Pat) Pierce both of Kenova, West Virginia. A granddaughter, preceded her in death. Eleanor was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in South Bend, and the Michiana Organ Club. She collected antique train memorabilia, giving her the name, grandma train. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.
