He worked for Dan River Mills for 48 years where his last position was in the Personnel Office. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army in Germany. He is survived by a son, William Wilson Wells, Jr of Danville, two daughters Cynthia Wells and Angela Wells both of Danville, a granddaughter Christina Jackson of Danville, a former Son-in-law Marvin Wayne Jackson a former wife Elizabeth Montgomery Wells, a brother Garland Wells and wife Lois Wells of Dry Fork, VA. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held at Lively Stones Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael Kent officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
