Hutcherson Jr., 71, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital, after a courageous six-year battle with colon cancer. He was born in Pittsylvania County on Dec. 23, 1939, a son of the late Louis A. Hutcherson Sr. and Norma Cobbler Hutcherson. Louis worked heavy construction and did some rewarding jobs in his career, including the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel; the Stonewall Jackson Dam, Weston, WVa; and the Twin Bridges across the Mobile Delta, Mobile, Ala., to name a few. His last big job was the APM Cargo Terminal in Portsmouth. He retired from English Construction Co. in Lynchburg in 2010. He was a lifelong student of the Bible, and he enjoyed sharing his extensive knowledge of the Scriptures. He was consulted by many for Bible references and Scripture meanings, Bible prophecy being his favorite. Louis was a member of various churches during his work travels and served as Sunday school teacher and/or deacon at each. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anne Abbott Hutcherson of the home; three children, Louis A. Hutcherson III, Elizabeth Hutcherson White and Lee Hayes Hutcherson; four grandchildren, Lily, Julia, Justin and Katherine; and three brothers, James W. Hutcherson, C. David Hutcherson and Nathan G. Hutcherson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Brenda H. Jeffress. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main St., Danville. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Fork, with the Rev. Joe Beck, the Rev. Marvin McDaniel and Pastor Jacob Slaubaugh officiating. A eulogy will be given by his daughter, Elizabeth White. Burial will be in the church cemetery. on July 10, 2011.1

Hutcherson and his wife, Faye of Danville, Louis Alfred Hutcherson, Jr. and his wife, Anne of Fredricksburg, David Hutcherson and his wife, Debbie of Hurt; and Nathan Hutcherson of Dry Fork. Also surviving are a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. from the graveside at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. on August 23, 2010.3

John Billy Hutcherson, son of Raleigh Martin "Rawley" Hutcherson and Virginia "Jennie" McCain, on July 30, 1945.1,2 Myrtle Frances Flanagan died on August 2, 2017 at Virginia at age 94.1 She Myrtle Frances Flanagan Hutcherson, born August 19, 1922, departed her earthly home Wednesday, August 2, 2017. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 5, at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was laid to rest beside her husband at 3 p.m. in Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Dry Fork, Va. Myrtle was a devoted wife and loving mother who worked hard caring for her family. She met Reverend John Billy Hutcherson in 1944 while he pastored the Christian View P. H. Church. They later married on July 30, 1945 and served together in the ministry in Roxboro, Valley's Chapel, South Boston, Altamahaw, Buffalo Ridge, and Danville. While rearing two daughters and actively supporting women's auxiliary, Myrtle also worked full time for E.I. du Pont, Burlington Industries and Bassett Walker. Through the years, Myrtle was blessed with many special relationships which included three nieces, Jean Adkins, Joan Conner, and Judy Haynes. In addition to her husband, Myrtle is predeceased by her parents, George Washington Flanagan and Dora Frances Pulliam; brothers, Henry, Beverly, Nathan, Harold, Thomas, William, Claude, Clyde, and infant brother Paul Flanagan and a sister, Grace Joyce Flanagan Draper. Survivors include daughters, Faye Carol Hutcherson and Frances H. Burton; granddaughter, April Pilson Edwards (Daniel); grandson, Tim Stovall Burton, Jr and great-grandchildren, Deavyn Luke Edwards, Cooper Logan Edwards and Addison Paige Edwards, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. on August 6, 2017.1
