Jack Richard Netherton was buried at Oakdale Cemetery, Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina.3 He was born on February 22, 1924 at Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina.7,2,3,4 He married Virginia Ruth Johnson, daughter of Ira Elmo Johnson and Mary Deane Cole, on July 26, 1947 at Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina.1,6 Jack Richard Netherton died on October 12, 2007 at Henrico Co., Virginia, at age 83.7,3,5,6 He Jack Richard Netherton, 83, of Glen Allen, formerly of White Stone, Va., passed away on October 12, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Larn and Bonnie Alexander Netherton. He was a native of Asheville, N.C., where he worked at Southern Bell from 1941 to 1947. He then transferred to Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone in Richmond, where he later retired with 42 years of service in 1984, after it became Bell Atlantic. He was a charter member of Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. He was also a member and past President of the Lancaster Union Masonic Lodge #88 in Kilmarnock, Va. and a member of the ACCA Temple in Richmond. For 20 years, he was an active member of the Irvington Baptist Church in Irvington, Va. as well as a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Glen Allen, Va. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Johnson Netherton; daughter, Vicki Jessee and husband, Allen; son, Jeff Netherton and wife, Nadya; daughter, Kim Miller and husband, Kerry; and four stepgrandchildren, all of Richmond. Family visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 15, Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 11220 Nuckols Rd. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a Building Fund donation to Mount Vernon Baptist Church or Irvington Baptist Church. on October 14, 2007.6

Cole in Norman in 1948. Together they lived and raised their family in Norman. J. D. passed away on October 5, 1975. Dorothy married Clifford Eugene Smith in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1981. They lived in Bartlesville where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Garden Club. Mr. Smith passed away in November of 1989. Dorothy moved back to Norman in 1989. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norman and a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed writing, genealogy work and was a creative artist. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a brother, William Bran Hickman, Jr; sister, Jacquelyne Irene Williams. Survivors include her six children, Deborah Jean Bacon and husband Ron G. of Bixby, Oklahoma; Janet Dianne Feuerborn of Houston, Texas; Jacquelyne D. Cole of Norman, Oklahoma; J. D. Cole, Jr. and wife Melanie of Palmer, Alaska; William Joseph "Bill" Cole and wife Diana Lynn of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Robert Paul Cole and wife Cindy of Norman, Oklahoma step daughter, Leaella Shirley and husband Henry of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and seventeen grandchildren. on October 16, 2004.4

Deborah Jean "Debbie" Cole was buried at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1913 North Porter Avenue, Norman, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.3 She Debbie (Cole) Bacon age 65, of The Woodlands, Texas, formerly of Norman, Oklahoma, unexpectedly departed this life on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her home in Texas. Debbie was born August 23, 1951 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of six children born to JD Cole and Dorothy Jane (Hickman) Cole. Debbie graduated from Norman High School with the class of 1969 and later from The University of Oklahoma in 1973 with a degree in Fashion Arts. While living in Norman, Debbie was an active member of the First Baptist Church. On January 6, 1973, Debbie married Ron Bacon and together they raised three children: Mark, Jaime and Seth. Debbie was a fourth generation Oklahoman. She and her family lived nearly 20 years in the Tulsa area and seven years in Edmond and was a member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church.
Debbie’s career began in broadcasting, business and public relations. In 1985, she took her first quilting class and was hooked. She received many accolades for her work and enjoyed the creative challenge that quilting offered. Debbie was an active member of the American Quilter’s Society, the Green Country Quilt Guild in Tulsa, the Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild, and has chartered other groups, including the Oklahoma Quilter’s State Organization, of which she is a former president. Debbie was a Quilt Designer and considered a pioneer in the modern quilting world. Debbie is the author of the book “Mad about Plaid!” She often spoke at several quilting events and taught classes on a variety of quilt making techniques. She designed and produced quilt patterns under the label “Bacon Bits ‘N Pieces”. Debbie moved to The Woodlands, Texas nearly 10 years ago and became an active member of the WoodsEdge Community Church. For the past several years, she worked for Nordstrom in The Woodlands, Texas. Debbie lived a life devoted to her family, her craft and her walk with God. She loved laughter and helping others. Her life’s work and legacy will forever be celebrated.
