Mr. Raybuck was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Winlock, where he graduated from Winlock High School in 1952. He later attended the University of Washington and was a graduate of City University. Mr. Raybuck served as a radio operator and chaplain's assistant in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1957. On June 25, 1960, he married Maxine Oldfield in Olympia. Mr. Raybuck was employed for 35 years at Puget Power, now known as Puget Sound Energy, before retiring from the company as materials manager in 1995. He then spent six years working for the city of Kirkland before retiring a second time in 2002. Very active in his community, Mr. Raybuck was a founding member of the Issasquaws and Braves Square Dance Club, served for eight years on the Issaquah City Council and three years on the Carnation City Council, and participated in Kiwanis both locally and at the regional level for more than 36 years. In addition, he was a lifelong blood donor and volunteered with Providence Medicines for Missions in Lacey. According to his family, Mr. Raybuck's life was one of community service and family and he would do anything to help another individual. In his spare time Mr. Raybuck enjoyed his grandchildren, travel, music, growing dahlias, reading -- especially biographies -- and genealogy. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters Kate Raybuck of Shoreline and Kristi Brown of Meridian, Miss; sons Jeff Raybuck of Kent and Mitch Raybuck of SeaTac; siblings Mary Casper of Renton, Gail Desaulnier of Palm Desert, Calif., and Anne Haleh of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Community Church of Issaquah. Remembrances may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O. Box 97151, Washington, DC 20090-7151. Olympia Memorial is in charge of arrangements. on July 21, 2002.6
