Pleasant, Wilkes Co., North Carolina.^1,2 He married Mary Samantha Brewer circa 1949.^1,2 Jene Clinton Bumgarner died on June 6, 2015 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina, at age 89.^1,2 He Jene Clinton Bumgarner, 89, of Millers Creek, NC, passed away June 6, 2015 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte, NC, after a brief illness. Jene was born on June 24, 1925 in the Mt. Pleasant Community of Wilkes County, NC to the late William Percy Bumgarner and Belva Triplett Bumgarner. Jene served in the Fourth Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific and was a veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima. He attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and owned an electrical contracting business for 25 years. He later served as the Wilkes County Electrical Inspector until his retirement. Jene was a charter member of Millers Creek Baptist Church and was a past member of Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #573. In addition to his parents, Jene was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Brewer Bumgarner; brothers, Howard Charles Bumgarner and Rex Coolidge Bumgarner; and infant brother, Billy Cline Bumgarner. Jene is survived by his son, Ken Bumgarner (Cathy) of Huntersville, NC; daughter, Debbie Taylor (Robert) of Davidson, NC; five grandchildren, Erin Goettsch (Mark) of Raleigh NC; Ashley Grice (John) of Mount Holly, NC; Brad Bumgarner (Marija) of Bluffton, SC; Meredith Chapman (Will) of Charlotte, NC; Brandon Taylor (Emily) of Charlotte, NC; two step-grandchildren, Collin Fales of Hilton Head, SC; Sean Fales of Huntersville, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Goettsch, Anneliese Goettsch, Charlotte Goettsch, Liam Grice, Sullivan Grice, Everett Grice, Ashby Lee Chapman, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home chapel, North Wilkesboro, NC, with The Reverend Eddie Tharpe officiating. Military Honors will be given by the Marine Corps League, Brushy Mountain Detachment 1187 at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Wilkesboro, N.C. The family will receive visitors at Reins-Sturdivant from 12:00 - 1:30 pm prior to the funeral. Brad Bumgarner, Brandon Taylor, Mark Goettsch, John Grice, Will Chapman, Collin Fales, Sean Fales, and nephews, Bill Bumgarner, Bob Bumgarner, Donald Bumgarner, Charles Bumgarner, will serve as pallbearers.      Hill Gorman Walsh was buried at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, 239 Champion Mount Pleasant Road, Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., North Carolina. He married Veora Triplett, daughter of William Cicero Triplett and Susan Jane Foster.¹ Hill Gorman Walsh was born on June 21, 1892 at Wilkes Co., North Carolina.¹ He died on February 28, 1975 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 82.¹

Walsh Sr. was born on August 1, 1922 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹ He died on October 4, 2006 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 84.¹ He ALVIN L. WALSH SR., 84, of Huntington passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Walsh was born August 1, 1922, in Bluefield, W.Va., and was a member of Highlawn Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Walsh. He is survived by one son, Alvin Walsh Jr., of Huntington, W.Va; two daughters, Brenda Haworth of Charleston, S.C., and Linda Meadows of Huntington, W.Va; two brothers, Eddie Walsh of Lynchburg, Va., and Velcie Walsh of Charleston, S.C; and five grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to: Shelia, Stephanie, Dr. David Daniels, Dr. Dewayne Tackett, the staff at the Hospice House of Huntington, and Cabell Huntington Home Care for all of their care and support. Walsh Sr., son of Hill Gorman Walsh and Veora Triplett.¹ Joyce Marie Bailey was born on September 8, 1927 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹ She died on March 6, 2003 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 75.¹ She JOYCE MARIE BAILEY WALSH, 75, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2003, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Beard Mortuary. She was born September 8, 1927, in Bluefield, W.Va., the daughter of the late Basil J. and Nettie Hartwell Bailey. She was a very strong and loving mother and grandmother. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Woodrow Wilson, Charles T. and Wilford Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Walsh Sr., of Huntington, W.Va; one son, Alvin L. Walsh Jr. of Huntington, W.Va; two daughters, Brenda J. Haworth of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Linda S. Meadows and her husband William of Huntington. W.Va; five grandchildren, Mark Haworth II, Michael Haworth, Michelle Meadows, Alvie and Lindsey Walsh; two sisters, Evelyn Hayden of Portsmouth, Va., and Betty Hurt of Charleston, S.C; one brother, Bobby Randolph Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews.
