Opal was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of the Harrison United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Ralph Phillips. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob Welder; daughter, Diana and her husband, Jeff Woods; son, Rob and his wife, Sue Welder; three granddaughters, Stephannie, Stacey and Jenny Welder; four brothers, S.M.
