Claudette was a member of North Raleigh Chapel of 35 years, and before that, a member of Chapel since her youth. Her life reflected to others in a wonderful way her love for her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife and mother, and a faithful servant of her Lord. She never hesitated to share the gospel story with people she met. She used her God-given talents to aid the ministry of the Chapel, and to help decorate North Raleigh Chapel on special occasions, especially holidays. She regularly visited the sick and shut-ins of the Chapel, and always carried with her not only the love and encouragement of its members, but also a loaf of her delicious home-baked sour-dough bread, and a container of her own jams or jellies. We will all greatly miss her. Our parting, though sad, will be but for a moment and we will soon be reunited around our Savior forever. Special thanks to Windsor Point retirement home, Hospice of Wake County, and Kelly and Betty for their tender and loving care of Claudette. Many times a knock at the door was a neighborhood kid asking if "Mr. Bivens could come out and play?" Leo accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior many years ago and held membership at Fleming Chapel. In addition to his immediate family, Leo is survived by his brother, Dr. Munsey Wheby (Jean) of Charlottesville; two sisters, Cleo Ferris and Jane Freeman predeceased him.
