David was preceded in death by his parents Clarance & Eva Bishop. He is survived by son & spouse, Michael & Wendy Bishop of Riner; daughters & spouses, Melinda Bishop & Kelley Collins of Christiansburg, Miranda & Anthony DiMaio of Radford; granddaughters, Ashley Bishop of Radford, Allison Weeks (Steven) of Riner, Brittanie Cook (Brandon) of Riner, Casey Bishop of Riner, Vivian Collins of Christiansburg; grandsons, Bishop & Gabriel DiMaio of Radford; great-grandchildren, Cayden & Caylea Bishop, Bryleigh Cook, Silas Weeks; brothers and sisters, Daniel Bishop (Mary), Nancy Denney (James), Benjamin Bishop (Debbie), Joseph Bishop (Teresa) and beloved pet Leah. A Graveside Service will be held at the Bishop Cemetery.³ He was born on December 8, 1946 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married Dorothy Jean Wood, daughter of Luther Leonard Wood and Gladys Ellen Nolley, on December 27, 1969 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ David Michael Bishop died on November 4, 2018 at Virginia at age 71.³

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Gladys Wood; and brother, Fred Wood. Charles is survived by his son, Steve Wood and wife Janet; daughter, Michelle Fisher and husband Phillip; grandchildren, Amanda Price, Chuck Price, Erika Wood Scruggs and husband Aaron, Jackelyn Wood, Abigail Fisher; brothers, Bill Wood and wife Melissa, Joe Wood and wife Darlene; sisters, Betty Anne Compton, Margie Lawrence, Dot Bishop, Ruth Booth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.³ He was born on October 29, 1943 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,7 He married Betty Sue Akers on December 7, 1963 at Alleghany Co., North Carolina.⁵ Charles Leon Wood and Betty Sue Akers were divorced on December 29, 1997 at Floyd Co., Virginia.⁶ Charles Leon Wood died on November 20, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 73.^3,4

     Betty Annie Wood Betty Annie Compton, 79, of Radford, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. Mrs. Compton was born on September 5, 1941, in Elliott, VA. to the late Leonard and Gladys Nolley Wood. Along with her parents, Mrs. Compton is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Phillips, and her siblings, Fred Wood, Leon Wood, and Mary Elizabeth Wood. Mrs. Compton is survived by her daughters, Wanda Compton and Janet Dowdy, her siblings, Margie Lawrence, Dothery Bishop, Bill Wood, and Joe Wood, her 3 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.⁴ She was buried at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ She was born on September 5, 1941 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,3 As of June 17, 1959,her married name was Compton.² She married Donald Robert Compton on June 17, 1959 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Betty Annie Wood and Donald Robert Compton were divorced on November 2, 1962 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁶ Betty Annie Wood died on July 26, 2021 at Blacksburg, Virginia, at age 79.⁴
