     Mary Ann Phillips Mary Phillips Peters, 69, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, August 14, 2020. She was the wife of the late Terrell Lee Peters. Born in Lynchburg on May 24, 1951 she was a daughter of the late Thornton Phillips and Thelma Phillips. She was a retired casher with Justice Convenience Store. She is survived by a daughter, Tonya Wiseman and her husband, Garrett of Monroe; two sons, Robert Peters of Monroe and Greg Peters and his wife Jessie of Madison Heights; two brothers, Wayne Phillips and his wife Merissa of Lynchburg, Michael Phillips of Lynchburg; two sisters, Deborah Rosser of Newport News and Lillie Richards and her husband Mike of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thorton and Thelma Phillips; and her sister, Mary Peters. Debbie held a long-dedicated career, of over 20 years, with the Hampton Newport News Community Service Board, from which she recently retired from. She enjoyed life to its fullest, while going on many trips to the beach, cooking on holidays for her family-especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Spending time with her family and friends brought her great joy, but her grandchildren, “Lia” and Christian, were said to be the light of her life. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter: Jessica King, and her fiancé, Raymond Garnes; her “bonus” daughter: Haley King; her grandchildren: Natalia Garnes and Chistian King; “bonus” grandchildren, Kaiden King, Kinsley McLean, and Kennedy King; her siblings, all of Lynchburg, VA: brother, Wayne Phillips, and his wife, Merissa; brother, Mike Phillips; sister, Lillie Darnell Richards, and her husband, Mike; a special aunt Catherine Phillips; Debbie also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, family friends and loved ones.⁵ She was born on October 10, 1956 at Lynchburg, Virginia.^2,3,4 As of May 21, 1981,her married name was King.² She married Johnny Daryl King on May 21, 1981 at Lynchburg, Virginia.² Deborah Lynn "Debra" Phillips and Johnny Daryl King were divorced on March 27, 1990 at Lynchburg, Virginia.⁴ As of April 24, 1995,her married name was Rosser.² Deborah Lynn "Debra" Phillips married Lloyd Howard Rosser on April 24, 1995 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.² Deborah Lynn "Debra" Phillips died on August 23, 2020 at Newport News, Virginia, at age 63.⁵

     Elsie Mae Jones Elsie Jones Reynolds, 89, of Evington, peacefully departed life on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Archie M. Reynolds. Born in Nelson County, March 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lillie V. Gowen. She was a dedicated wife and mother and former employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation. She loved to cook and raise a garden. In addition to her husband and mother, one son, Ronnie L. Reynolds and one daughter, Robin R. Reynolds, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Roy E. Reynolds and his wife, Trish of Rustburg and Danny R. Reynolds of Gladstone; one daughter, Karen "Sue" Williams of Mechanicsville; seven grandchildren, Ronnie M. Reynolds, J.D. Reynolds Jr., Jason S. Reynolds, Pricilla L. Reynolds, Jennifer R. Alicea, Julie R. Whelan and Abbey N. Williams; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was blessed to have Brenda F. Wright of New Kent as her caregiver. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Elsie J. Reynolds. Born in Campbell County, on January 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Archie Lee Reynolds and Josephine Williams Reynolds. He was a gifted carpenter and had a long career as a construction superintendent with C.W. Handcock and Sons. He also enjoyed deer hunting and watching the hunting dogs work. One son, Ronnie L. Reynolds and one daughter, Robin R. Reynolds preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy E. Reynolds and his wife, Trish, of Evington, and Danny R. Reynolds of Gladstone; one daughter, Karen Sue Williams of Mechanicsville; one sister, Nancy Wilson of Forest; seven grandchildren, Ronnie M. Reynolds, J.D. Reynolds Jr., Jason S. Reynolds, Priscilla L. Reynolds, Jennifer R. Alicea, Julie R. Whelan, and Abbey N. Williams; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was born December 10, 1955 in Danville, a son of Linwood Wesley King and the late Dorothy Massie Clay. He was a rehabilitation counselor and a member of the Altavista Church of God of Prophecy. He is survived by two daughters, Jessica King and Haley King both of Newport News; a son, Brandon Lawhorn of Lynchburg; a brother, Linwood King of Rustburg; a sister, Carolyn King of Washington; and six grandchildren, Natalia Garnes, Christian King, Kaiden King, Kinsley McLean, Ryver Lawhorn, and Lakeleigh Lawhorn.¹ He was born on December 10, 1955 at Danville, Virginia.^2,3,1 He married Deborah Lynn "Debra" Phillips, daughter of Thornton Alex Phillips and Thelma Virginia Jones, on May 21, 1981 at Lynchburg, Virginia.² Johnny Daryl King and Deborah Lynn "Debra" Phillips were divorced on March 27, 1990 at Lynchburg, Virginia.³ Johnny Daryl King died on February 17, 2017 at Altavista, Campbell Co., Virginia, at age 61.¹

     James Douglas Reynolds Sr. James "Doug" Douglas Reynolds, Sr., 65, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016. He was the husband of Brenda Irvin Reynolds for eleven years. Born in Lynchburg on September 17, 1950, Doug was a son of James Vivian and Connie Reynolds. He loved to work on cars, and was even a mechanic for NASCAR. Doug was preceded in death by his first wife, Robin Reynolds.
