     Alan Ernest "Bud" Reuter was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Porterville, Tulare Co., California.3,2 He was born on July 4, 1926 at Santa Ana, Orange Co., California.1,4,5,2 He married Ethel Virginia Dysinger, daughter of Henry Ray Dysinger and Elva Lena Grider, in 1954.1,2 Alan Ernest "Bud" Reuter died on November 17, 2008 at Porterville, Tulare Co., California, at age 82.1,5 He Alan “Bud” Reuter came into this world with a bang on July 4, 1926, 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Bud joined his family of sister, Jo, age 3, mom Pauline and dad Ernest. Bud graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1944 and June 10th 1944 left for World War II joining the Navy. Bud served on the radio shack on the USS Kitburn Bay and survived the Battle of Leyte in the Philippines. After the war he attended Cal Poly, majoring in agriculture management. Befriending several Porterville fellows brought him to Porterville for “Dove Seasons”. Bud met and married Ethel Dysinger in 1954. They spent several years in Orange, CA. Bud, caring for Orange Groves. Three sons Alan, Chuck and Ernest were born to the Reuters. The family moved to Porterville in 1966 and Susan joined then in 1967. Having purchased an orange grove Bud spent his time caring for his grove here and leased groves in the Santa Ana area. When the boys were young Bud helped in 4-H but having a special love of toy trains spent lots of time at yard sales, swap meets and antique stores. He also helped start the Underwater Train Society and the yearly Christmas Season train show at the museum. Bud had a great love of old movies and for old band music. He shared this love of the big bands with Buck Shaffer. Bud was preceded in death by his mother Pauline and father Ernest. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Ethel; son Alan E. Jr. and wife Sarah of Porterville; son Chuck and wife Abbe of Tehachapi; son Ernest and wife Sally of Porterville; daughter Susan and her husband Tim Hill of Porterville. There are 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends. One of his last pleasures was to see his 16-year-old grandson, Doug, become an Eagle Scout. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 10:00 AM on November 26th. Donations to the Porterville Museum will be appreciated. on November 21, 2008.2
