Ellen adored painting pictures, going out for a ride, and listening to old-time mountain music. Her favorite was the Dry Hill Draggers, who her nephew played fiddle with. She would sing her favorite song, “Watermelon on the Vine” with the band by her side at every gathering she attended. Overall, her greatest joys were smiling faces, special friends, her dear family, and the family’s children who Ellen shared an exceptional bond with. Ellen enjoyed life’s beauty and knew only love in her heart as she gleamed with affection and never failed to say “I love you” to everyone she encountered. Strangers and all. Her precious spirit was magnified by the dedication of her Mother, Irene and Father, Bill who devoted their lives to caring for Ellen in their faithful home. Ellen’s life served as a true testament. God’s love shone through her and blessed the lives of all who crossed her path. Her presence enlightened others on all things wonderful in this journey we call life. She exemplified joyfulness here on earth and we know she is rejoicing with the angel band at last. Though our hearts ache immensely, the everlasting impact of Ellen will shine forever.
