She was born in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late Raymond and Janie Dudding and had been a West Salem resident for most of her life. She spent many years working in the dental field and subsequently retired as a nurse's aide from Catawba Hospital following over 17 years of service. Elsie was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, attending many games in years past, and never missing one broadcast on the radio. She was a long time member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church and loved cats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. "Jimmy" Miller who died in 2005; two brothers, Junior and Jack Dudding; and a sister, Elva "Pucky" Looney. She is survived by her son, Bobby Miller and his wife, Linda; two grandchildren, Chris Miller and Andy Miller; five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Madelene, Nathan, Ramsey and Emma Miller; five sisters, Kathleen Gray, Judy Johnson and husband, Eddie, Eunice Barnes and husband, Jay, Fay Kingery and husband, Wayne, and Ruth Dillon and husband, Jerry; two brothers, Robert Dudding and wife, Vera, and Pete Dudding; brother-in-law, Frank Washbush; a sister-in-law, Lorraine "Sis" Helsher; and her friends at Richfield, especially David Smith; and her special friend, J.S.Meador. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Pastor Ben Lockhart Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014,at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke Valley SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Ave., NE, Roanoke, VA 24012. on September 3, 2014.1

Surviving is his beloved wife of 60 years, Elsie Dudding Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Linda Miller, Troutville; grandsons, Chris and wife, Sara, Andy and wife, Kristy; sisters and brother-in-law, Grethel and Frank Washbush, Lorraine "Sis" Helsher; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Nellie Miller; and five great-grandchildren, Max, Nathan, Maddie, Bryce and Ramsey. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Bill McMahon officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on April 16, 2005.2

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cordelia Gray and brother, Fred Gray Jr. Mrs. Fralin was a member of Colonial Baptist Church and has a strong faith in God. She never met a stranger, hugged everyone and enjoyed gardening. Surviving is her husband, Golden Fralin ; children, Jack and Donna Dudding, Jill and Michael Bird, Jay Dudding; grandchildren, Corey Austin, Cristen Austin, Alecia Dudding, Nikki Dudding; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Dudding, Eli Doss; sisters, Carol Leonard and husband Wayne, April Gray; special aunt, Ruth Adams; nieces, Julie Shelton and husband David, Heather Switzer and husband Donald. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday from Oakeys East Chapel. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakeys East chapel. on June 19, 2007.1
